Alarm Question (Probably Stupid)

We don't bother locking it on a night.

However, I believe a double press of the lock button on the key disables the interior sensors. Check the handbook.

This is exactly right....2 quick presses on the fob lock button. Remember to unlock it though as the alarm goes off if you open the side doors.

I always lock the van before going to bed using the button on the driver's door. Opening the slider from inside doesn't unlock the other doors / tailgate though, which I always forget, and then have to clamber back in to unlock the tailgate from the drivers' door button.

Having consulted the manual, I'm actually none the wiser: I think using this method to lock the van disables the anti-theft alarm. Interior motion sensors obviously are not active either (I think we'd know!) But what about locking the van using the key fob? I've been pressing it once, then pressing again and holding to fold the mirrors. I thought this was "double locking" or something. Since reading the other thread where this is discussed (Ferry to Spain thread I think) I've realised one press and hold folds the mirrors and locks the van. What happens when I press a second time then? It sounds like some more locking going on, but am I actually unlocking the dead bolts (or whatever they are)?

If I do that and open the slider from the inside with a double pull (unlock then open) if I shut the door and I’m outside then the outside door handle won’t open the door even though it’s unlocked on the inside, until I unlock the van with the fob.
Check yours because it’s very easy to get locked out.
Happened to me in Heathrow Airport with the engine running and my phone inside. I had to break into my own van.
Worryingly it only took a few minutes and no tools other than a T shirt - no damage though.
I don’t get out of the van without the keys now.
