Alarm help? Meta EasyCan (maybe). Where is it? Why does it beep?

Hello.
I've come to realise the 2011 ex-RAC Transporter T32 I've bought may have an aftermarket alarm fitted. I know nothing of alarms.

I've been doing a fair bit of work to rhe camper electrics and have been disconnecting the main battery. Whenever I do this the alarm beeps four times when I lock the van. This lasts for about 4 or 5 days and then it stops.

I've found a horn under the windscreen wipers and there are two little mic things in the top right and top left of the cabin. The horn looks like one pictured in an advert for the Meta EasyCan alarm.

I've had the dash trim off but cannot find the unit itself. Where is it likely to be? And why does it beep for days after I've disconnected the battery?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, thread resurrection but did you get this sorted. Mine is similar age ex RAC van and it beeps when I lock it.

No extra info about what it might be or any codes or remotes etc.. just want to disable the intrusive beeps…

Hi.

It sorted itself out and now works properly, which I am glad of as it's a very useful alarm.

I found the beeps (I got four though) were due to two reasons:

1) Interruption in power supply (i.e. disconnecting the battery). Then mine beeped for almost four days afterwards, and then stopped.
2) Door not shut correctly. In my case this was the tailgate

One other thing. It does not beep when I lock it with the remote. It does beep once if I press the remote lock button twice. I think this might be informing me that by doing this I am disabling the motion sensor (i.e. puts it it the same state as locking it using the internal door lock button on the driver's door).

I might be wrong!

Once the windows one touch close is set mine will beep ay me if a window is left open as well as doors etc.

Ie,

1 beep open
2 beep locked
4 beep something left open.

A very useful upgrade.

Infact I think I'll get one for the Bus?.... But the beeps might be annoying when camping to others?

So might look at fitting a switch to disable when on site camping?

Thanks all for the replies, so mine beeps 4 times whenever I lock it.. nothing happened when the batter has been disconnected… I wonder then thanks DellMassive, if that means it thinks something is open? Nothing on the dash to suggest it.

Very disturbing for camping.. which is mainly why I asked.

The manual seems poor from meta online, how on earth would I work out what’s not shut (the bonnet sensor isn’t enabled (don’t think it’s ever been by the look of it)

It’s an old high mileage van, it’s in good condition but some wiring legacy shall we say, either rac or recent long term owner, I don’t want to be ploughing money into something which needs significant investment in for stuff like this…

Have you reset your Windows...?

The pinch protection will cause this...

So test that... For the one touch close

Via long key press on remote...

Or in I click on window switch.

...

FYI.. windows need resetting after battery disconnecting.
