Hi, where is the best place to get a leak test and/or regas for my van, I have just bought it and when switched on doesn’t seem to go cold Thanks

Ah - so no redress. I see your location is on your profile, but you might catch the eye more easily of someone local if you edit your post to state where you are.

Basically I was wondering if any national places like Halfords or Kwik fit did it, I am an Fgas registered engineer myself so i might just do it myself, I haven't looked yet but I imagine it is either R134A or the newer R1234YF refrigerent, it must say somewhere ? , if it's flat I will do a leak test first.
Thanks

P.S. I bought a Haynes manual but about as much use as an ashtray on a Motorbike, under air con is says OOh very technical take it to a dealer lol

What year is your van? Mine is a 2017 and it’s the older (cheaper) refrigerant.
Mine stopped blowing cold and the pressure was way below what it should have been according to VCDS.
Just took it to a local place and he popped it on the machine that does the vacuum test then did a regas. Cost about £50.
That was last year and it’s still ice cold today in the 30degree heat of France.
According to the intrnet it loses refrigerant over time through the compressor and it’s expected to regas it every 5 years or so. So hopefully it’s just at a low pressure rather than a leak.

Pop the bonnet. The sticker is near the bonnet catch.

I have used Protyre before (near to me).
They often have a discount and they do a leak test before they regas.
Good shout!
BUT
I put my reg in and it said I needed the newer more expensive R1234yf refrigerant but mine is R134a so I entered a 2015 T5 reg and it came back with the right refrigerant for £69.95 but they currently have a 25% discount code (25AIRCON) which brings the price down to £52.46. Well happy with that so booked it in. Cheers
