Hi All
I've just been to a garage to get a service and as soon as I pulled in the mechanic said there was a noise coming from the engine area. He diagnosed it as the air con unit and gave me 3 options, replace, repair or remove and replace some bearing, not exactly sure what that involves. Heads up, I'm in Turkey.
About a year ago I got the van serviced in Bulgaria and the mechanic at the time pointed out that the air con unit was disconnected ( it must have been like this since I bought it second hand in 2018), so I reconnected it and haven't thought much about it. I told this mechanic in Turkey and I asked if I could just disconnect it again but he is saying it is critical to resolve the issue because it cant be bypassed in the software and if it "goes' it will hit the timing belt an destroy the engine. This has all been communicated via google translate so I cant be sure its an accurate translation.
Anyone one have any experience with this? I can't actually afford the replacement or the repair but if I know what I need to do then I will work something out and I also have the continuous EGR problem and an ABS issue but I'll put them in another thread.
