Air con pressure Carista

I filled it up with the stuff from Halfords but it would not go higher than 35 psi on the gauge which was within the green part . According to the instructions this was ok This was on the low pressure side while the engine and air con was running .
May be i have over filled it ?

Yes the operating pressure I would assume.
Normally you’d evacuate the refrigerant, fill and pressure test with dry nitrogen, evacuate the nitrogen and fill with a defined weight of refrigerant assuming no leaks.
I’m not sure filling to a set pressure is going to give the results.
If you’re adding refrigerant I assume the AC isn’t working as it should.
If that’s because of a leak then the leak needs to be identified and fixed.
If you are outside of warranty I’d go to an auto AC specialist not a dealer or general garage.

A local garage with a AC should be your first port of call.
Normally around £50.
The machine will excavate the system, then pull a vacume for 20mins to check for leaks.... If the leak test passes, the machine will charge the system and you are good to go.
Your pressure reading looks similar to mine.
So maybe you just need a regas?
His one was blowing cool, but not cold.
His regas test passed and now he has icy cold AC.... Apparently the gas can become less effective, and the system with no leaks can over time drop pressure.
Who knows, I'm no AC engineer. But thats what he done.

Perhaps it would be better to check the pressure at "rest" - then one would expect to see some 5 bars at that temperature.
For reference on a journey on a warm day (+25 °C) a pressure variation of 5.4 - 15.2 bars (80...220 psi) was observed. I'm not sure
I guess would be helpful to monitor also compressor load & compressor specified current along the pressure over time.

It looks like your compressor doesn't do much (see compressor current vs. achieved pressure vs. performance (temp at evaporator)).
The highest pressure I found in my logs (not here) has been (at +28 ℃ outside temperature) 14.6 bars (compressor current 0.82 A, engine idling).
Lowest temperature seen at evaporator 1.3 ℃ (today using MAX COLD).

everything on mine seemed to be working correctly, just that the pressure when off was about 35psi and when turned on was high 40’s.
Apparently, although a sealed system refrigerant does escape over time via seal on the compressor spindle if o remember correctly. Mine hasn’t been done since new-so 8 years.
It’s still working well, just been driving through central France and was nice and cool inside with 32’C outside.
