I've just seen a good deal on an outdoor revolution movelite 4 but it's a European version. Without sounding like a fool, couldn't you just pull in forwards instead of reversing
Have you had a chance to use the Quadris yet? It's on our shortlist at the moment, interested to hear what you reckon for pitch/packup timeWe've just bought the Vango Quadris Air Low.
I've not had chance to set it up yet but it looked good at the Camping show t'other week. I'll do a review on the awning thread at easter![]()

Yeah! So we put the awning up and it would not inflate past 3 psi so after 2 hours we gave up, swore at it and packed it back up!
Its going back to the supplier to be checked to see why it would not inflate but I suspect its the manual pump at fault as I was chatting to someone who bought one and they had exactly the same issues. He bought a Vango electric pump and it works a treat, he loves it!
I could go down the electric pump route but on spending £700, the supplier should find out for themselves what the issue is!
HTH.
We've had air tents before and never had an issue with a manual pump, in fact they are much quicker than the electric ones.
Was looking for that one but seems to be unavailable currently.if the portaloo is in the tent and its raining then a connected awning is a must. Useful for muddy boots too.
Vango Versos Air Low for me
Bit late to the party but I had an issue with a new vango manual pump the pump read 4psi but probably put 10psi in causing the tube to explode so be wary of pump readingsI do wonder if Vango have a batch of poorly made manual pumps and I fell (un)lucky in getting one.
the benefit of it is that you can zip the tunnel and bedroom module on any of three sides according to your pitch layout or whatever view takes your fancy at canopy end. Its pricy but with the Vango electric pump is a breeze to put up.Was looking for that one but seems to be unavailable currently.
Edit: I see they now estimate availability next month.
It's a shame vango never thought about the design and made the tunnel the permanent fixed item and made the front canopy removable the part you can move to wherever you want to position itthe benefit of it is that you can zip the tunnel and bedroom module on any of three sides according to your pitch layout or whatever view takes your fancy at canopy end. i had a problem with a tent as awning on one site:Awning vs Tent
After a bit of advice, appreciate everyone has their own preferences and set ups etc.
Was just about to pull the trigger on a new Vango Cove III awning (had a Vango Cairns driveaway on our last van so want something a little bigger this time and like the front facing orientation). Whilst deciding poled vs air, the wife has thrown a curveball and has seen a 4-person stand alone air tent that she really likes... She states the awning was a faff (although she played no part in its erection and I thought it was fairly straightforward to put up/down).
Has anybody had the same curveball and opted for a tent opposed to an awning? Looking for Pros and Cons. Is it easier/better? Do you miss the connection to the van? Any problem with booking pitches, as it could be considered larger than a pup tent etc?
Thanks in advance![]()
That's the worry I had, as most sites seem to say just a pup 2-person tent as an extra to the van. I suppose a 4-person is taking liberties. I think my mind is swayed to the awning, for this and the mud issues mentioned above - now its a question of air or poles on the Cove III...i had a problem with a tent as awning on one site:
Notes on Booking - We will bring a 4-Person tent with the Bus. Our awning has been damaged last week on a trip out. We will place the tent next to the bus like an awning . we only allow 1 sleeping unit on the pitch so you would only be able to sleep in the tent you would need to book another pitch or use just a very small 2 man tent

No when you inflate the airbeams you physically rotate the canopy to the front, the back or side facing. Depending on which way the canopy is facing the tunnel is zipped to its left or right or opposite side. You can dispense with the tunnel altogether and have it as a standalone tent. It's a shame vango never thought about the design and made the tunnel the permanent fixed item and made the front canopy removable the part you can move to wherever you want to position it
