Aftermarket radio fitting

. I have recently bought a vw t6 and the radio has developed what seems to be the comman screen fault. I want to fit an aftermarket radio but want to keep the parking sensors and if possible to display that comes on the screen think its called park pilot. The radio I'm looking at is a pioneer sph-da360dab (unless you have any suggestions). It does have a reverse camera fitted but this has never worked so that could be another option as I am pretty confident in the fitting just need to know what wiring harness and or adapter are needed

I had the 360DAB in my T5, screen is a bit dull if not looking at it straight on, and the touch screen got a big blob of condensation behind it in cold weather. Pioneer said I could send it in for some waterproofing to stop it doing that but I didn't bother, it always went away after a few hours.

Just so you know.

I can recommend the Alpine Halo 9 although it doesn't have the park pilot on the screen. I did get a camera fitted and that does come on when in reverse. Parking sensors still beep but the camera is better for me anyway.

I've got the Evo98 its a lovely unit. Retains all of the factory sensors and parking overly. Great screen in all light. I had an unbranded unit which was great but I want with Pioneer as I had a local installer do a full speaker upgrade as well.

Looks nice!

Where did you get that cup holder? And is that a lid/cover for the open shelves on the left?

I'd avoid the Pioneer sph-da360dab personally, I had one for 18 months until I had to swap it out. It's feature packed and came at a good price, but the build quality isn't as decent as the higher end Pioneer models as they outsource these to China. Mine had the condensation blob on the screen very early on, poor sound quality and connectivity issues with the wireless car play - the latter being the main reason I wanted it! You can't update the firmware on them either so I expect there are future limitations. Swapped to the Alpine ILX-F705D (effectively a Halo 7), whilst it was a much pricier, it was an instant improvement, connects with the van software better, sound quality is great and you get an HD screen. I wish I had just spent more and got the Halo 9!

I have just fitted the Alpine Halo 9 (ILX-905D) to my T6 with the full fitting kit from @Absolut5. I only completed it yesterday, and so have only used it briefly to check that everything seems to work. I can confirm that the OEM reversing camera on my van seems to work fine and I have also seen the parking sensors, but I seem to remember that they were on separate screens, and not the dual reversing camera and distance sensors on the same screen. I can’t recall how I changed screens, but the camera wasn’t working originally until I enabled it in the settings, so it defaulted to the parking sensors.
