Aftermarket connector kit

Hi people

I’m after fitting a Kenwood Apple CarPlay unit to my 2016 T6. Currently has OEM unit and I want to keep the OPS and steering wheel controls.

This kit does that but is a nearly the cost of the head unit.

FKIT-VW-66

Does any know of an alternative solution without using the RCD300 units as I was not impressed with them in my Scirroco?

You definitely don’t need that interface. Connects2 do a VW can bus module that works. @Absolut5 is best to advise.

Unfortunately you need these parts to retain the OPS, it’s not my preference on how to do it but will explain on a pm

Great advice and service from Absolut5. Thank you😎👍. The recommendation is spot on and a huge upgrade from the factory sound quality.

Piggy backing here for context -
I intend replacing my 2018 VW T6’s head unit as its performance is getting worse. It’s a MIB STD2 PQ +/NAV with DAB. There are steering wheel controls and OEM rear parking sensors.
There's an after market reversing camera (NTSC) originally bought from InCarTec, which is wired to a quad lock connector and has been coded in on the VCDS, which works as it should.
I have a quad lock loom adapter to signal a Kenwood KSC-SW11 subwoofer which is under the driving seat that has a fused ignition activated supply.
These mods were done five years ago and have worked well since and I would like to keep them.

I wish to fit a new unit myself and I’m looking at the Kenwood DMX6523DABS with a FKIT-VW-66 fitting kit.
Am I correct in thinking that the subwoofer loom adapter should be removed and a output signal from the proposed head unit, which I understand to be mono, can be used when an RCA splitter is used to feed the stereo input requirement of the KSC-SW11.
Can you give your opinion on my choice of head unit, your advise on any other considerations and glaring oversights on my part, and a price as well please

No reason to remove the sub wiring, leave it how it is, and just change the switch feed to the aftermarket headunit, no gains by changing to rca.

But I suggest a far better Kenwood , the Kenwood dmx8021dabs is far better quality, uses a dedicated port to display the parking sensors, the fitment is easier and the wiring/fitting kit is cheaper.

Thanks for the reply - can you give me a price for what I'd need. Also, I've just read a post where you mentioned a Pioneer system with their own interface kit that is better value than the fitting kit I was thinking of using. I'm open to suggestions
