Advice on Tyre pressure please?

I've recently changed my wheels and tyres, which are Falken 225/65R17, 106H WP A/T trail XL.
Talking to other van users recently got me thinking about tyre pressures, with differing advice, or information.
My vans a T28, by the way, and usually fully loaded with the usual camping gear, etc.
Any thoughts please?

106XL is maxload 750 kg AT 2,9 bar/ 42 psi upto 160 kmph/ 99mph

Fully loaded , as you give, mostly max permissable axle weights, so search for that ( VIN-plate)
Add 10 % and calculate lineair the pressure for that.
Then you have max reserve, at wich comfort and gripp is still acceptable.

The official calculation leads to a tiny bit lower pressure.

Can also make a cold pressure/axleloadcapacity list for you.

If you have changed your wheels and tyres and the sizes are different to those printed on the label on your door jam, then the best way to find correct pressures for your new set up would be through a Tyre / Tire Comparison site. Find on then enter the all the details requested for the original set up min and max then enter the details of your new tyre set up. The tyre comparison site will geberate your new recommended tyre pressures. Probably best to write that out on a sticky and place next to the manufacturers sticky for recomended tyre pressures.

The comparison sites use official data and work out the pressures for us.

Little correction

106XL is maxload( 750) must be 950 kg AT 2,9 bar/ 42 psi upto 160 kmph/ 99mph.

Point is, that nowadays recomended pressures are not anymore calculated for max perm axleloads, but often kept higher for fuelsaving reasons.

So then you better start from basic data, and those are the real axleloads or MPAW , or whatevervits called in your country.

Thank for the replies. Just from my investigations, for the Falkon tyre size that I got, the psi pressure can range from a minimum of 42psi, to a maximum of 51psi, with the optimum pressure being around 45/47 psi, depending on the carrying weight at the time, and front tyres being slightly more inflated than the rear, again, depending on the weight, and the road conditions. on a fully loaded T28, I would probably be looking at about 47/48psi.
Any other advice would be much appreciated.
