Well folks, although my Caravelle has been ok since the latest fix, I’ve come to the conclusion I can’t live with a ticking time bomb sitting on the drive.
It’s a pity, the Caravelle was a great drive, but I owned the van for just over 3 months and saw it back to the dealers 3 times for warranty repairs totalling well over £5k in parts and labour. Every time I thought about driving it, immediate thoughts were what’s going to go wrong today! That and the general disinterest of the VW dealership in all conversations with them.
Maybe in future if VW sort out their issues I’ll go with another transporter, but until then it’s adios VW.
Big shoutout to all the VW gurus in this group though, everyone generally very helpful and frequently gave me good info I could use to counter the fob-offs from the dealership.
