Add blue

The 6.1 meters out a lot less of the stuff, and in my experience it drops periodically in chunks of roughly 500 or so rather than in precise increments of 500, 499, 498. I wouldn't be worried.

My T6 drops in 500's
My DNAB T 6.1 consumes about 1L / 1000km, but the indicated remaining mileage on the dashboard never moved from around 30000 (thirty Thousands) km while drivind 15000 km. I informed my VW dealer, they said nothing and they just topped it up to the brim. No explanation given, no mechanic would be available to answer.

So I do the same every 5000km. The tank is about 22L , FWIK.
Never got any problem.

The T6/T6.1 Adblue metering is just unreliable, and now it is out of production, nobody cares.

Do the the old fashioned way, just fill it, not worthy to get a gastritis for it.

Hope the above helps.

Haven't found that to be the case with my 6.1, but then I've never brimmed the adblue tank, which certainly won't help with reliability.

The adBlue metering on my 6.1 seems reliable. And I always add between the max and min asked for in the DIS. Never just fill it.

It is not hard to believe that you know better than VW official service.
Quite easy, actually.

But once you get into that situation what you do ? Knock against a closed door?

As long it works, just keep it filled as your common sense will tell you.

And BTW, before anyone comes out with that, the "procedure" with the ignition key in the manual does exactly nothing.

If you read about this there are so many people have had problems with the adBlue not resetting when they just fill it up to the top.

But carry on. And yes I would believe what VW have programmed into the van. So I will carry on doing what the van wants, feel free to follow your own procedure.

I wait till mine hits 2k then bung 5l in.
I've had enough of playing the adblue game and previously had the no engine start ,due to possibly overfilling with 10l at the 1.5k warning and then not registering, so just play it safe now doing 5l at 2k.

Mine was showing 5000 miles remaining yesterday morning, when I was heading home at 4pm it said 5500. Someone been pi55ing in my tank?

I think its a bit like forecasted range of fuel left. If you do quite a few miles stop start about town, then a long journey sat at 60 on a motorway your predicted range will go up. Mine does, and Im sure no one added a bit of fuel as I was travelling down the motorway, or pi$$ed in my adBlue at the same time. ;)
