The sensor is a bit sensitive. Snow or heavy rain / hail has set mine off occasionally. I wouldn’t say it’s happened more than a handful of times though.

My ACC packed in a few weeks ago. Accompanied with the engine management light (DMZA, late 22 btw). I bought a Topdon diagnostic plug in module and downloaded the CarPal app to my phone. When I ran the health check it flagged said fault and I was able to successfully reset. So far so good.

Odd that you’re not reading a fault code. Btw, I checked and rechecked the radar module for cleanliness. Recycled power, disconnected battery etc. Nothing worked but the Topdon thang aced it. Good luck…

I get no engine management light just the message acc not working. it seems to work for months then stop for months. it last worked last year I have taken the sensor off and cleaned it and made sure it is dry several times in between bouts of it working and not working so I think it may be a wiring fault further along but don't know where the wire runs.

Does the fault code reader recognise the radar? E.g. can you read radar's identification data, software version, coding, etc.
T6 or T6.1?
The radar is not part of generic OBD protocol so a generic OBD reader wouldn't care.

it may be a wiring fault
Then there would be communication failures with other controllers, e.g. dash, CAN gateway, etc.

if it was a fault with a module or component you will get a fault code using a reader. if however something one of the required pararmeters for it to opporate is out of range then it will come up with this fault.

Things to check.
Does your start/stop operate ok, a low battery will cause this. or if you have disconnected the battery monitor cable from the negative terminal.
Have you removed the steering wheel recently? do all the buttons still work?
even though front assist doesnt work, does park assist still operate ok?
have you hit a bird, i assume you have a t6, if so the sensor is exposed and even after a small impact from a small bird or the brushes from a car wash or preassure washer can move it out of range.

Mine goes off sometimes when the front sensor gets dirty but most times resets itself BUT once mine wasn’t working for a few months so popped to the dealer who said it had ‘Glitched’ and they reset it. Been ok since and that was probably 2 years ago.

Not wishing to hijack the thread but I get the Front Assist Not Available message on the centre of the dash when I start up but no warning light when I’m driving. Is this normal?

could be a number of reasons, the sensor is out of alignment due to impact for instance. or the vehicle battery is low (does your start stop work?)

Battery replaced a couple of months ago. Start stop was ok last time I let it work. I normally turn it off because when the engine stops it turns off my rear camera, just when you would want it if someone drives into the back of you.

ok, so you need to correctly wire your dashcam into the correct fuse section that isn't inline with start stop, that's easy to do.

in relation to your battery replacement was the vehicle programmed to let it know it had a new battery installed?

Thanks for your replies. As far as I know, the vehicle was programmed after the battery replacement.
The front assist not available has been coming up since I bought the van in August. What I was wondering is if this is normal on starting up as I don’t have a warning light on. I am going to go and speak to a local independent specialist to see what the score is. I also have an abs and stability control light on now as well 🤦‍♂️.
The dashcam was fitted when I bought it so, probably going to leave alone for now 😁.
Thanks again, I’ll let you know how I get on 🤞😁

your front assist wont work if you have other faults relating to voltage, abs, stability control, speed sensors etc. so it needs to be read to get error codes.
