Looking for suggestions on how to fix an ABS issue. Two warning lights have appeared permanently on the dash. The amber brake light and amber skid light. I’m not very mechanical. The van rear brakes seemed to stick on one. Very cold mornings and since then the lights came on but disappeared after 30 seconds ish. I also noticed a bit of wheel spin when pulling away. It’s been in to a local garage with a VW knowledgeable mechanic. He was only getting a 10v reading at the wheels. The rear right wouldn’t spin using his plug in machine, but the left one did. He sent the ABS pump away to a refurb specialist who said they couldn’t find a fault. The ABS sensors have been changed but the fault remains. Any pointers would be helpful. I’ve already spent £500 with nothing fixed. Thanks in advance.

If you are going to try and fix it yourself then you need some sort of diag tool to see what faults are present or it’s just complete guesswork, VCDS is the best general tool but will cost you a couple hundred quid
Think I’ve had those warning lights when a sensor went
90% wheel speed sensor fault. Cheapish DIY fix even if you change all 4.
Amber ABS ,ESC, front brake error message on mine last week VanDan… was in for full service and mot so had the NSR ABS sensor replaced as it was showing the fault… all sorted and no light now … hope this helps…

I’ll leave it to the professionals, but they seem baffled, which is costing more and more money with trial and elimination.
Is this different to an ABS sensor?
I think the terms are interchangeable, however, "Wheel speed sensor" is pretty specific where "ABS sensor" could relate to other parts of the ABS system.
It could be any of the ABS sensors - The scan tool should indicate which one.
If changing the faulty ABS sensor doesn't fix the fault, it is likely to be the wiring to the sensor.
