A/C not cold

I have a 2021 T6. That has AC issues doesn't blow cold air.

I had it re-gassed, leak checked, there's no electrical issues on the van. I really don't know where to go from here.

The AC hasn't been great from new, so maybe its always had this issue.

Can anyone throw some light on this issue for me?

I don't find VW A/C to be all that cold to be honest.

I know mine works as it does make the van comfortable in hot climates (40+), however the vents don't feel COLD like other manufacturers.

Some you have to adjust the vents so your fingers don't go numb on the steering wheel.

Mine is so cold it can be painful against the back of my hands after a short while.

Is is just a case of not terribly cold, or is it not blowing cold at all?

I had this issue when I got my van 16 months ago. Air con wasnt cold, got it checked for leaks so they topped it up, blew cold air for a few weeks then it started blowing warmer air again, took it back to the garage again and after I explained that something wasnt right somewhere. They investigated again and said the seals needed changing, issue sorted.

A mechanic who simply adds refrigerant to any AC system without determining why the pressure / weight is low isn’t really up to the job.

I'm not exactly sure what he done but he did put pressure in the system and run some sort of process, think he might of taken the old stuff out and put some stuff in to show any leaks

I agree I was in Italy last year in 40+ temps and the ac was great, but at 28 last week it felt like it wasn't working.
I had the I had it De-gassed weighed as they thought the issue was not enough gas had been put it but it was fine.

Ran a diagnostics came back clear, I really don't know whether to give up and open windows keep going. so. annoying as a college has a t6 like mine the has fantastic, AC.

I’ve had mine diagnosed recently with a faulty TXV? It’s fully gassed and been tested by a A/C specialist, he had found the same fault on a caravelle on the previous job he visited before mine. Waiting to be fixed as they’re on back order so maybe a common fault with these? It’s the valve that the pipes go into on the bulkhead just before they enter the van. I’ve attached a photo (I think). Top right of engine bay sort of next to the battery.
Might not be same fault as yours but just throwing it out there. I will report back as soon as it’s been changed and hopefully it fixes my issue

Very Interesting, could well be the issue.
What year is your van?

It’s 2015, the caravelle with same issue was newer than mine. He ran diagnostics and came back clear, he said everything else seemed ok so I’m hopeful it’s this valve. Can’t remember if it’s stuck open or closed but whichever one it was he said was unusual but he’d suddenly had 2 in one day!

Quick update. Had the valve replaced today after a long wait for the part but it’s fixed my problem. Maybe worth checking yours

He had to drain system, change valve, re pressure check then do an extended vac(!) to get any air out etc and then recharge system with all his special gubbins but start to finish was no more than an hour I think. Defo a specialist job though, the equipment he had was

You really need to find a decent a/c specialist who knows what he’s doing- just adding gas/changing parts without proper diagnosis can get costly and time consuming.
