4motion error c1113 07

New Member
Recently 4motion stopped working and I got the error code c1113 07 plus a pump failure code.

I bought and fitted a new haldex pump and did the «pump motor» option in basic settings. One time it did say «finished correctly» but also says «time out» or something. But still no power to the rear wheels and error code comes back after a few kilometers.

Any suggestions where to look next?

Please post

1) Full VCDS Auto-Scan
2) Haldex controller (22) blockmap - Ignition ON/engine OFF
3) Haldex controller (22) blockmap - Engine running at idle

How-to create a blockmap file:

[VCDS]
[Applications]
[Controller Channel Map]
- Single Controller Address = 22
- Login or security access code: Leave blank
- Function: Measuring values
- Output: CSV file
[Go]

The result (TXT and CSV) files are saved into directory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs
Please attach the files here.

Here you go, thanks for your help!

i have also tried the 'reset all adaptation values' then 'pump motor' but still no rear wheel drive.

the new pump is VAICO brand, and clutch fluid is febi bilstein haldex fluid.

Thanks. So you had obviously cleared the fault as there was none for 22-AWD in the log.
Nothing obvious in the blockmap. However, I guess you had handbrake on (as manual gearbox) and thus no Haldex engagement.

Could you please run Haldex actuation/pump test (ignition ON, engine OFF, brakes OFF, handbrake OFF)

VCDS > Select > 22-AWD > Output Tests > IDE05706-Haldex clutch actuation
Select - Show Measuring Data
Tick the following
IDE00019 Voltage terminal 30
IDE04502-MAS04730 Haldex clutch status-Degree of blockage
IDE05707 Haldex clutch pump: current
IDE05708 Haldex clutch pump: PWM signal
IDE05710 Haldex clutch pump: voltage
Click Log, enter filename
Click Start (data logging)
Wait 5 seconds
Select IDE05706-Haldex clutch actuation (from pull-down menu)
Click Go! (to activate the test)
Let the test run for 5-10 seconds, click Stop (to stop the test)
Wait 5 seconds

Click Stop (the data logging)
Click Done, close

Back out from the tests, close controller, etc. exit the VCDS

Please post the log file (in directory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs)

i have also tried the 'reset all adaptation values'
Please post current adaptations

I could finally hear the hadex pump for the first time!!. in output test i had to change from 'open' to 'close' in one of the dropdown selections, see attachment. i did not get any haldex pump movement if i tested with 'open'.

i also checked error codes in 22-awd module but no new errors. but i still get a lot of front wheel spins, so i dont think its working. its snow here in norway so its perfect conditions for 4motion testing. earlier this winter (before changing the pump) i had it working, but seems like it was a bit on and off, sometimes working and sometimes dont.
Could you please run Haldex actuation/pump test (ignition ON, engine OFF, brakes OFF, handbrake OFF)

here you go!

plans for tomorrow is to put the van in the air and run it to see if propshaft is spinning, i will also check haldex fluid level again. i filled it until oil came out from the fill hole, but maybe i need to fill more after running the pump a couple times? do you know exacly the right amout of fluid it needs with a pump change?

thanks again @mmi . i have read a lot of your other replies on this forum, and your a life saver for these vans and owners!

Sounds correct - you indeed need to drive the clutch closed to see/hear the effect.
Electrically the pump seems to operate correctly - below - current draw above 8 Amps. Although mine draws more than 10 Amps, so possibly the system is not fully calibrated yet. However, still should be enough to eliminate most of the wheelspin.

Sounds like a plan

Workshop manual - Propshaft and rear final drive - states approx. 1.1 litre. For fluid change only approx. 0.95 litre.

'reset all adaptation values'

The adaptation map values are correct. Just got concerned because generally it's not a good idea to reset adaptations because it's not reset back to factory settings but clearing e.g. configuration values. I think the reset might be disastrous for e.g. ABS.

You surely have you seen this?

If you get a chance to do some live testing, here is my proposal

Make a recording of driving and accelerating on gears 2 and 3. Just do one recording of the test drive.

VCDS > Select > 22-AWD > Adv. Meas. Values

Tick the following
IDE00920 Front left wheel speed
IDE00921 Wheel speed: right front
IDE00922 Left rear wheel speed
IDE00923 Right rear wheel speed
IDE04502-MAS04730 Haldex clutch: status-Degree of blockage
IDE05707 Haldex clutch pump: current
IDE05708 Haldex clutch pump: PWM signal
IDE05710 Haldex clutch pump: voltage
IDE06111 Axle speed deltas

Tick "Group UDS requests by 7"
Log > filename > Start (the logging - IMPORTANT!!!)

Crawl at about 1000-1200 RPM, then push the pedal fully down and let van accelerate till 2500-2700 RPM (approx. 60 km/h on gear 3).

Stop, etc.

I have done some logging, like you asked for, plus a little burnout on a parking lot covered in snow. with esp off, so the front wheels was spinning like crazy.

i feel like the rear wheels have some power, but not where they should be.

the fault code does come back, but can take from 1 day to 1 week before showing up.

i did haldex oil change again and was able to fit almost one litre. old oil was very dark for being just one week old. and way to little came out. (650ml)? car was leveled when filling. and yes the propshaft and rear wheels was spinning when car was lifted and idling in 1st gear.

how can i upload video? i have noticed something strange with the steering angle sensor. i dont know if that makes a difference....

T6Forum doesn't host videos. You need to load them somewhere else, and post a link here.

Please elaborate.

It seems you lost the rear-wheel drive between 12:02 and 12:05

All good at 12:01 log, no slip between front and rear axles. Obviously Haldex was engaging (dashed line) whenever accelerated.

At 12:05 log rear wheels were just dragging along - even though Haldex pump was seriously commanded to engage.
