I bought these from VW to replace my Stabilus struts but never got around to fitting them.
These are unused OEM uprated (1200N) struts from VW, Made in Germany and designed to work with the tailgate bike rack.

If you've recently purchased a tailgate Bicycle Rack, you may wish to install a pair of the highest quality Genuine 1200N uprated tailgate struts to cope with the extra load.
These tailgate struts are of course of the highest quality both internally and externally and, with a resistance rating of 1200N, are well up to the task of raising a heavy tailgate with ease.
Fitting is a very straight forward procedure and no special tools are required.
Supplied as a pair, these tailgate struts will completely replace your factory fit ones. However, you may want to hold on to your originals if you ever decide to remove the bicycle rack.
We advise against using these struts when your bicycle rack is not fitted as the increased resistance of the struts means the tailgate opens with significant force. This results in the tailgate being much harder to close over the standard units.
