2024 t6.1 Bit the bullet Heated screen and jets

Ok so I bit the bullet today booked van in to have screen swapped out to a heated one. I have ordered the loom, relay and switch. Also ordered a set of heated jets and loom. Screen is being done this coming Friday then it’s just a case of waiting on the looms from Germany. Then just a case of coding them in.

Update one.

Screen installed today now need to wait another week until home to install the rest and activate.

Here are my confirmed costs.

Heated screen fitted - £438
Heat jets and loom - €116.81 - £101.99
Heat screen loom with relay - €159.66 - £139.99
Postage of the looms via dhl €63.80 - £55.70
Total without import vat and tax €340.27 - £297.07
Import duties, vat, and DHL fee £71
Manual switch from TPS OEM part £32.54

Total price £838.61

Things to do over crimbo
1. Swap jets over
2. Install switch in panel
3. Run wiring looms to locations and BCM
4. Code jets and screen via VCDS

I will update further when I start the install on timings and show some progress shots.

Update Two

Arrived home today for the festive break looms, switch and jets all delivered. OEM jets fan type supplied. These looms are well made and fully numbered to match the installation instructions. I will be doing the install on Thursday next week and will update on how the install goes.

They only had one type shown with the kit so can only assume they are the triple jets the same as what’s there now but just heated.

Ah, that'll be the triples jets then. A bit late now but the fan jets from Golf and Passat are a perfect fit and come in heated flavour too, and theyre so much nicer in use.

Yes, like those. The copies are pants, but if its only the jets you need plenty of good used one cheap on a certain auction site.

I've got the unheated ones and the spray is soooo much better than the standard half hearted jobs, and uses a lot less fluid. Indeed, VW first used them on the Passat as they could use a smaller acreenwash bottle and save weight.

If this is the version they are sending from their pic it looks like the fan type rather than the three sprays
