Hi People,

I am a new forum VIP member and have just taken receipt of a campervan conversion T6.1 2023 reg (18000 miles).
Last weekend the van was parked in the drive during the heavy rainfall we all experienced last weekend. On the Monday popped out for a short run and the van stalled three times (Glow Light and Start/Stop errors). After running the engine stationary for 10 minutes was able to get back home with just Glow Light error visible.

Continued to run engine and after an ignition off and key release the restart all was fine, no errors. Checked battery voltages 12.2v (stationery passive), 11.49v (ignition on) and 14.9v (engine started, battery charging etc).

No devices are battery draining etc

As it is still within 3 year warranty I booked into local VW Van Centre. They cleared all codes and their synopsis was to continue driving the van for a bit longer and they mentioned the codes closely referred to a VW Bulletin regarding control unit replacement. Out of curiosity I have searched online for any reference but could not find a T6.1 bulletin at all?.

Does anyone know of any VW bulletins relating to this failure?

The bulletins you are referring to are normally called TPIs and theres loads of them, its hard to track them as access to them is limited and only relevant to specific circumstances and faults

Thank you for your reply Pauly. I'll follow the VW Van Centre's recommendations then, run the van in wet weather and see what happens. Probable ECU change I suppose under warranty.

Hi Pauly. Well for two weeks the T6.1 campervan has been running without errors. Last Friday though some Glow Plug errors returned and also the Infotainment LCD display is dead and no Radio, Reversing camera functions working :-( . Booked into local VW Van centre tomorrow to leave with them (under warranty).

Their original diagnosis was the Engine Management ECU (Bulletin etc). Is it possible that its problem can manifest problems to the Infotainment unit (now dead) or is it likely to be a more problematic wiring problem after damp wet weather ?
