2018 vw transporter t6 no glow plug light on dash when turning on ignition?

Hi. I'm currently trying to get to the bottom of a few issues with my 2018 transporter. As title suggests thete is no glow plug light showing when turning on ignition. Is this normal ? Or is there anything that usually causes this to happen ? Thanks in advance.

E.g. hot engine, or just simply warm weather, above about +15...20 C.

Ok, it seems there is an issue then

Is the van new to you, have you ever seen the glow light?

Curious to hear what are the other issues?

With a proper diagnostic tool (e.g. VCDS) can be checked if the light is even commanded to illuminate. Also can be checked whether glow plug controller launches the heating.



With the diagnostic tool the glow plug light can be just turned on - to eliminate faulty/removed "bulb"
