Hi. My 2018 vw transporter dsg 204 bhp has started blowing black smoke from the exhaust and the exhaust is full of black soot. There's no fault codes, the van pulls and drives as it should. The smoke goes away on high revs. Does anyone have any idea what can cause this ? The van is on 150k miles but has an extensive service history. I'm not sure if this is normal or related but I've also noticed liquid leaking from the part in the attatched photo. Thanks in advance.

Black smoke is unburnt fuel, more importantly the DPF would seem to be defective as so longer filtering soot.
Incomplete combustion, leaking induction boost pressure, leaking injector/s?
Mapped, modified, ??? Best be up front now.
VCDS scan would be the best chance of a diagnosis.

Thank you. I'm not sure about a map or any modification. I purchased it not to long ago. I will take it to a garage in the morning to see if they can check everything you mentioned.
