2018 2.0TDI 102bhp CXGB Engine

Hi Everyone,

Today I collected my van from an approved VW dealer were it was in for issues with the coolant.

He said casually that in his experience my engine was only good to 80k before presenting multiple problems.

Obviously this is not something you want to hear when you have 79k on the clock.

I find it strange that I haven't came across these problems on here, does anyone with the same 2.0tdi 102bhp CXBG engine have any experiences either good or bad to share?

I’m no expert but if that were the case surely there would be plenty to read about it on here? I’ve not seen anything to suggest that.

Specifically he mentioned piston number one and hairline cracks in the engine block, I have searched for both issues and found nothing.

He is not my indy mechanic, but works in an adjacent VW garage. He popped over to lend his expertise.

Maybe he is a disgruntled employee, having a bad day.
