2013 T5.1 140ps 6 speed - Gear Change Stiff?

Totally new to T5 ownership so hope I'm posting in the right place and not asking a daft question. I'm looking at buying a 2013 T5.1 6 speed 140PS with approx 65k miles and am wondering how easy / light the gearchange should be? I currently have a Pug Expert 2.0 with 6 speed box and the gear change is much easier than on the T5.1 when test driving, so I'm wondering if it's normal or maybe something is needing to be adjusted. The gears, including reverse all engage without trouble , no clunking but selecting & shifting takes a little bit more effort than I expected. I accept that this is all a bit subjective, but thought I'd ask in case this is something that I should be concerned about?

Thanks

It'd be a better comparison if you were comparing your prospective purchase van to another VW Transporter T5.1 with the same gearbox, the gearchange in one brand of van is bound to be different than another and you have got used to the Peugeot.
I've got a T6 with the same engine and gearbox that is fitted in the T5.1 that you are looking at and I find it a very easy box to drive. I'm not aware of any reliability issues with the 6 speed manual box.
Clutches are a wearing part so you might want to have a mechanic or other trusted person give you a second opinion before parting with your money as at 65K miles it might need one sooner rather than later, depending on how it's been driven, there are plenty out there with 100K + miles on the original clutch.
If, as you say, all gears engage without any difficulty I wouldn't be worried.

Thanks for the reply. As you rightly say, it's difficult without a direct comparison. I wondered if the linkage might be in need of some adjustment or lubrication so thought I'd ask in case it's a known issue.

It’s easy enough to remove the dashboard panels that cover the mechanism, the easier and cheaper option before looking into the gearbox / clutch.
I suspect there isn’t a fault, just a case of used to the gearbox.

Thanks, I'll see how it goes and take a look if I'm still not used to it after a while.

I assume that you’ve checked there are no signs of a gearbox oil leak.
It’s easy to check the gearbox oil level.
At 65K miles I’d be inclined to change the gear oil anyway, take a sample of the first oil drained and check with a magnet for steel debris.
