Hi guys,
Im getting my 1st transporter early to mid march its T32 T6 swb kombi in black , I've opted to get the upgrades as in 18"alloys ..front & back spoliers ,black side bars and vw sat nav media system.
Im so excited to get this van as I've always wanted one all my life and im totally buzzin for it to arrive .
Ideally im going to use it for work and eventually over time (when i can afford it) convert it to a camper .
I havent even really seen much of the T6 at all im only really going off recommendation that its a good van ,i havent even test drove it either ..i hope im not making a mistake .
Judging by what I've read on here im getting a good van .
Are there any other extras that people would advise me to get done before i get delivery ?
Also the roof bars im getting im not sure uf i will use them probs wont ..or are they just put on for show?
Any advice would be great .cheers micky

Welcome to the forum.
Hope you really enjoy your new and mange many enjoyable miles behind the wheel.
Loads and loads of helpful advise and recommendations on the forum..

LED head lights if you can afford them or at least the H7 ones. Standard H4 are pants.

Cheers mate , do the vans come with the standard H4 ones on?whats difference between the two and cost ?because the leds are silly money.

It's a nice van but an expensive hobby
Yeah i bet ha ha in fact i know because the van alone without anything is a fortune ... but itll be worth it .
Just cant wait to get it and build it over time ..no rush and at least theres plenty of help on here which is great.

The cost is eyewatering, but judging my how many people dislike the poor H4's, it's something to seriously consider. It would always be a the top of my list.

So when i get my van ,ill have H4s on?
How much are the H7s and how difficult to fit?

Yep led are silly money but very good. Worth noting though retrofitting these afterwards is even more expensive. H7 units are good and up to modern standards (I have them) loads of people retro fitting aftermarket versions. Standard H4 are poor and prop like driving a 10 year old average car. Most members agree that on a 2017 vehicle VW are taking the P###
by even having these.

Only hope vw have changed the 2018 models headlights but i doubt it.

Hi Micky, I picked up my 1st transporter late Nov last year. I bought t30 150 dsg highline Kombi. Had lots of extras fitted, led front and rear, swivel seats, power latching side and tailgate sat nav, comfort dash, chrome side bars, rear cam censors etc. I wanted roof bars but the number of leaks from them I decided not to have them. We are retired and are using it for pleasure only. Love the high driving position and styling in general. Been a VW owner from 1971 always promised myself a Transporter. I have had loads of people stopping wanting to look at it. I think you will love owning it.

Yeah Rob i cant wait but im going to get a pop top eventually so roof bars will be no good and to be honest I've seen loads vans without and i think i like them better with none on.

Yes I have one, would I buy another? No

Strange, I've had a Vito Sport for years and drove the Vito Sport back to back with the Transporter Sportline. A day in each. my view would be that these are the two best vans available.

One of the reasons I even decided to look at alternatives to the Vito is that, dynamically I don't find them so good. They 'float', 'drift' in ANY cross wind and you feel like you might flip over in corners IMO.

After the Vito test, when I drove the Sportline, literally within 10 minutes I was blown away by the overall handling in comparison. The Transporter also feels significantly faster. On top of all that, the Transporter felt quieter and less fussy in making progress on any road type or situation.

The interior of the Transporter seemed more 'high end' in appearance when you're sat in it and the finish also seemed seemed and felt better.

The residuals of Transporters are better, the options and after-market goodies are better .....

I'd like to know what there is to dislike ......... genuinely ??
