18x9 ET45 Not Fitting

Hi all

Yes another wheel fitment thread....is there any reason why a 18x9 et45 wheel pokes out to far?

I've seen these fitted to other vans and they tuck in nicely but for some reason mine stick out an inch...Is the T6 T32 front track wider that a T5.1 for example or is the track wider on a T32 than a T30?

This is driving me mad! and that's not me in the picture filling my face...that's the tyre fitters trying to figure it out too

Simple reason..they are not 18x9 et45.
My old wheels are 20x9 et45 so they will sit exactly like you're except mine are tucked in the arches.

Yeah, I agree something seems wrong with the numbers here.

I run 9" wide rims with a 48mm offset and the outer edge of the wheel sits exactly 10mm inboard of the front arch and 20mm inboard of the rear arch.

That should make your rim be 7mm in board of the front arch.

I have a 45 offset in 9.5 and have to run 8mm spacers to clear the t32 brakes

As a result I can’t fit them as the arch sits on the tyre so waiting on different tyres

sorry there banded steels original et45..I had them banded from 7.5 to 9s. I'm wondering if I should of gone 8.5s

When you band wheels the offset changes as well as width...ie offset decreases (lower number) and gets pushed further out.
What was the original wheel size before banding?


Edit just read 7.5 to 9" so the offset will be pushed out to around et26. Its pushed out around half the amount it's banded. So 1.5" band (or 38mm), half that is the change in offset. Et45mm-19mm = et26mm......
