Hi all,
Got a 1.4TDi CUSB 2015 VW polo, I know this isn't a Transporter but I figure there is a lot of common rail knowledge here!
I initially purchased the car as a non runner due to starting issues - turned out to be swarf contamination, changed HPFP, in-tank lift pump and injectors for...
The new mapping place ran diagnostic it said lowfuelpressure.
I’ve had the injectors tested and they are fine apparently.
I definitely hear a ticking that increases with the revs.
The metal particles are almost too small to see ....
The last time I had dealing with this.... The mechanic took a fuel sample about 2 pints. And poured into a clear sandwich bag .... Then drew a magnet over it...
Eventually a small in grey sludge collected in the corner next to the...
Hi Forum,
Ex RAC T6 bought 3 months ago.
This Friday driving home and vehicle goes into limp home mode.
Flashing coils and engine management system lights come on.
Vehicle looses virtually all power. Doing 10mph with random boosts of short power. Manage to arrive home. Fails to start again...
UPDATE this brown stuff is now being tested as this was in march and all 4 injectors were shot and had to be replaced and a whole system flush with new fuel filter, all was and still is running perfect however 6 weeks later flashing coil light and p0087 lowfuelpressure code came up. Since then...
It'a cxha 150ps, 2017, done 54k, owned from new. Uses no oil.
I went out to it multiple times last nite at around 30 min intervals and it kept playing up, and yet just now fired up instantly from cold. Will do the fuel filter, monitor coolant level and try and upload some clips. Thanks.
Black smoke out the back is either over fueling or under supply of air ie low boost pressure.
But the DPF should be catching all of the blacks spoot?
The fuel metre in valve governs the fuelrailpressure..... So are the map guys saying that the governing valve has got an issue and causing...
Even if the pressure sensor is faulty, which it seems like it may be, the engine should be asking for around 200,000 kpa, but is getting nothing and reporting only 35600 kpa at best. So the pump should be flat out trying to get the pressure up, to then be regulated by the pressure regulator when...
had the hpfp replaced yesterday, and its driving better then ever before so i was hopeful it was all sorted but then today after driving 165 miles coil light and same lowfuelpressure code p0087 came back! Next steps is the fuelrail and fuel regulator however we are not getting any symptoms...
Thanks for the logs.
No fuelpressure in fuelrail. However, interestingly after 12 seconds of cranking the pressure starts rising slowly and reaches 12300 kPa which is enough to fire injectors.
Normally at startup the pressure reaches 30000 kPa (300 bar) in less than 0.5 seconds from cranking...
As seen above in post #61 for a successful start-up the registerd air mass was significantly more - even cranking speed was significantly less - 170 RPM.
For the non-start (post#54) cranking speed was 280 RPM- possibly because of well charged battery. But still mystery why the registered air...
Thanks for the reply and what you have said makes sense and may well be the issue.
Im going to fit a new sensor tomorrow as what I'm thinking is there could be pressure at the rail but if the sensor has failed we wouldn't know what is actually at the rail.
Hi all I'm looking for some help please
T6 cxha 150 ps t30 120k miles
Yesterday when driving on the Dual carriageway my van cut out I lost power and managed to get onto the hard shoulder.
I attempted to restart with no joy it was cranking over but would not attempt to fire up.
No engine...
Very weird that there hasn't been any fault codes, but I think I have dodgy map from the previous owner.
The van previously had heavy black smoke under load, especially going up hills. It later got much worse: it started and ran very rough, would barely rev past around 1,500 rpm, and produced a...
I agree i think the hpfp, now where do i start i haven't found any sign of metal contamination.
I've had a quote for a reconditioned pump from pf jones in Manchester, £470 plus a deposit of £370 that's refunded when I return my pump.
I was thinking drain the tank,
Drop the fuel tank remove...
Mass air flow is an interesting point. After these logs (so if it was an issue at all, it would have to be intermittent at best) I was checking for loose fuses. Although not loose and not a recent addition, there was a piggyback fuse holder in SB20 Mass Air Flow Meter and ECU. Cant imagine it...
Evening all,
I have a 2018 4motion 204 Kombi.
Will try to keep it short……….
Tuesday morning started the van, went in the house, came back out it had stopped. Thought no more of it, used it all day no issues.
Wednesday morning same thing, now thinking can’t be coincidence what’s going on...
Fuel metering valve is what controls how much fuel is let to the rail in order to build up the pressure. Since the HPFP spring was ok I guess next it would be in order to check if the metering valve is activated by the ECU. Please log the following advanced measuring values while cranking for a...
