...cable to allow it to be surface mounted with the cable hidden. Alternatively, it’s a standard MagSafe charger stuck somewhere and the cablerouted to a suitable USB power socket, which doesn’t seem any different than just plugging it in and having a trailing cable!
I ended up putting a...
Hi
I basically followed this guys cable routing off his youtube video. I think it shows it better than I can explain. I then installed mine on to the the side of a vangear mini kitchen pod, so didn't run all the way back. Hope this helps.
Hi
Where did you run your cable too inside the Caravelle. I want to install the Charger 1 also but want to run the cable to the boot area but don’t know what route to take and what is involved in hiding the cable under the floor etc
Hi all
Just bought a BLUETTI Charger 1 and need some advice on routing the cable from the battery to the boot area on my Caravelle.
Any pictures and advice how to do this will be much appreciated.
Thankyou
Well done, Stuiemc, on your installation! You've been through a winter since. Hope it worked out well for you.
So pleased I came across your input to this thread because I've been wrestling with something very similar. Planning to install a diesel feed for a Truma water/ air heater. Initially...
Thanks very much bud! I've recreated my diagram in Miro as it was a real pain to edit in photo software and incorporated your suggestions, what do you think?
Looks ok apart from the leisure battery positive area. This would be best as the MRBF (60A ish for now),16mm2 to the isolator, 16mm2 to a positive busbar, then your loads/chargers (inc the 60A from the Orion) from the busbar via fuses. This give expansion options and ensures all cables are...
Thanks for the reply mmi. And no need to say sorry for not testing one particular thing out of zillions of others which you have. Although this pretty much ruins your image... ;)
TLDR, the 12V going to the trailer socket is indeed not regulated and varies based on what the alternator does. It...
I used a wire puller like this one: Amazon Link
Once you have the head unit out I followed the existing cabling route out the back on the right hand side and came out behind the trim on the drivers side and then straight up the A-pillar from there, and then taped it onto the existing wire loom...
Hi all
So we have a t6.1 which has had some conversion work done over the last couple of years.
I’d really like to add another couple of additional usb charging points. Mainly on the other side of the van.
Running the cables is not an issue as the route is easy , however I just wanted to...
Routing cables becomes much easier if you upgrade your fish wire to an endoscope. That way you can route around any obstacles. Hooks up to your phone and makes the job far less frustrating. Add a bit of a kink to the camera end and you can rotate the cable to miss anything that won’t move along...
If you are running a compressor fridge remember a motor draws about 8 times the running current briefly at start up - if the system cannot supply that then generally the motor stalls and after a few attempts then controller locks out. That's why a nominal 40w device has such large cables and...
No, the camera comes up to the right of the lock barrel then the cable travels along the trim and goes up through the same rubber bung as the number plate light
This is what I'm starting to get worried about! However still really happy with mine...
Hi @Robert I'm looking at installing the front camera - what route did you take to get the cables into the van and behind the head unit, from the front badge? Did you go through a grommet already used for other wires?
Did I also read that you had to extend the power cable supplied with the...
Yes it’s very straightforward.
I’ve connected the power wire to my leisure battery via a fuse.
The earth I’ve taken to a ground point. I cut the huge cables back to as short as I needed them and put new connectors on them.
I’ve fixed the 800w charger to the back of the drivers seat base.
It...
@The Flying Scotsman
Is the alternator charger as simple as they say, just connect the positive to the battery and an earth
Did you put it on the main van battery or on the leisure battery connections
We’re did you place the box in the van and route the cable
Thanks
I honestly have had no issue with the screen brightness or sound quality. Not to sound like a dick, but presumably you did change the screen brightness settings? I haven't been able to detect any change in the sound over the OEM. If anything, it has a bit more depth.
The heat would worry me...
So I've been on the fence for a while now about what I wanted to do as my OEM screen is failing. Have has some quotes to upgrade to a Kenwood system etc. I've been very close to paying the money and getting it done but always held of as all I really want is a standard wireless Android auto...
