I need to change leisure battery. Use on offgrid a lot for 2-3 day tripswith solar panel connected. Any advice please on best battery with dual terminals. Is for t6 campervan. Thanks
Just get the biggest solar panel and battery you can afford and you're covered for both instances then
300ah battery, decent size solar panel and you'll be fine offgrid for days unless you're running induction hobs and air fryers frequently (even then you'd be ok for a few days)
Hi everyone,
I’m very new to campervan electrics and could really use your advice. I work remotely, and decided I want to travel around the UK working in some nice spots instead of sitting in my flat. My plan is to buy a T6 and convert it, with the aim of being able to go offgrid for...

Running full electric offgrid requires a lot of 12v battery power.
The problem is always how to recharge the following day.
We have 460ah battery, 2.6kw inverter, 530w solar....... And still run into problems if the sun is not shining.
After a morning reading stuff....I'm leaning towards this......
This will give 2 more panels to play with.
I can then have a permanent 800w feed into my home usage, and I can recharge the batteries from excess solar and off-peak from the grid.
My standalone microinverter will then be surplus...
My usual advice around chargers is to fit larger but down rate it if you're in two minds about it.
Why? Because a 50A charger running at 30A will run cooler and be kinder to your battery and itself; most of the time you are not going to be using the battery so heavily it needs a massive charge...

Hi and welcome.
There is quite a bit involved in setting up a leisure battery, the advantage of the power station is that all the necessary parts are in the one box, and you can take indoors for charging etc. You just need to be...
Hello All,
Recently we got a Clayton Power LPS2 3000 version installed in our campervan. Eventually we made the decision to go fully electric with all the appliance's.
This due to having 2 small kids and not wanting gas leakage's or diesel fumes inside the camper when we use it.
Now we are...
After having recently purchased an Ablemail to keep the leisure battery topped up out of season, I think it's uncovered an issue with my Renogy Lithium battery (model RBT100LFP12-BT-RE-UK) as it seems to be draining very quickly and incorrectly reporting the remaining capacity. I understand the...
Knowing nothing about electrics, a quick question.
I have a small leisure battery in my van, with loads of space next to it as it's under a rear seat. I also have a jackery 500. Am I OK to charge the leisure battery from the jackery via a battery charger, giving me more offgrid capability. And...
We use Pylontek battery storage (will work with any 50v system) with a sunsynk inverter.
It has local control and a cloud based app.
It also has local integration with "Home Assistant " software that is very popular.
Though you would want a current trading company that can deal with Firmware...
Hi All
I have T6.1 camper conversion professionally fitted from new 4 years ago.
My issue is when parked up overnight the battery doesn't appear to hold enough charge to power my Wallas hob first thing in the morning. The voltage display might show 12.0 but will go down to 11.3 when the hob...
Looking to fit solar and a lithium battery in my LWB Caravelle.
Looking at a Roamer or Fogstar 240ah under seat battery along with 2 x 200w panels on the roof. Is 400w overkill for panels? Are CIGS panels worth the upgrade in cost?
Looking to camp as a family of 5 with nights “offgrid”...
Thanks @roadtripper
Sounds good
Looking at several makes of fridge, just trying to get it right first time around lol
Looking at one for off the grid camping, that will either be on its own battery or one of leisure battery
Independent batteries sound good so they can be charged before going...
Ahh yeah sorry
I have a full electrical system in the van electric hook up with a 110 amp lithium battery. Just looking at upgrading to a new system like maybe a Victron or something but I’m not too sure want to spend more time offgrid was thinking of 230 amp battery.
The electrical system in...
