I think 255 40 19 will have a load rating of 100 which may be slightly under for a Caravelle. 255 45 19 would be ok, or 245 45 19 but will be a bit stretched on a 9.5j wheel Edit. Or 265 40 19. Have a look on willtheyfit.com

My opinion would be 8.5 with an ET40 offset and if your is a T28 or 30 a 245 - 45 - 19 102 tyre or 255 - 45 - 19 104 if you've got a T32. Any where in the 35 - 45 offset range will work fine though unless you're particularly low in which case a higher offset will put the wheels further under...

Hmm yeah that’s my inclination as well. I’m paying to have them powder coated so seems a shame to ruin them with chunky tyres!

I have the same van but not the same wheel tyre combo, run both my 19's and 20's at 40psi, 19's are 255/45 20's are 235/35 F & 255/35 R. Drives fine, feels stable with no issue's on either at that pressure. I also ran my original Devonports at around that pressure as well.

If you ring transporter hq they’ll advise what size tyres work, they’ve fit enough sets of them .
