    Tyres for 18s Sportline Wheels - 255/45 vs 235/50 vs 235/55

Cheers. Did you notice more tyre roll when cornering due to bigger side wall on 55 profile ? When it comes to tyres I do not mind paying bit more as it is only thing that connect me to the road.

All terrain tyres - recommendations and pictures

Super happy scoring a set of 17” Amarok rims ($100), which I painted ($60) and got a set of Pirelli Scorpion AT+ 235/65/17 ($1150). I was previously running 255/45/18 Kumho Estas, which were just fine for roads, but useless off. The ride is much smoother with the fatter tyres, and I can get to...

    18” or 19”?

Well the fact that you’re only allowed to go +2 isn’t really an issue since, for a T32, there aren’t really any good (load-rated) options in 20” tyres anyway. Without going (IMHO) excessively big like 275/40/R20. So 18” or 19” is good! Depends perhaps on usage & style: In 19” there is a really...

https://www.t6forum.com/threads/at3-tyres-235-55-18-or-235-60-18.28902/post-424187 I've been running the same size crossclimates (see attached thread above) on T6 T32 LWB Kombi 2WD 204BHP mostly unladen since Oct 2021, swapped front and rear as fronts had more wear but apart from that still...

Want more comfort than my 20’s are giving me at present

Only need 17" to clear the big front brakes, If you go 18" there is better range of tyre options in 235/55/18 plus load rating for T32 Practical option is 17" rim with 235/60/17 Michelin Agilis CrossClimate for a chunky look

    Mileometer distance - wheels change

56mph GPS on 60mph Speedo means the Speedo is currently reading at 107% out, I'm guessing your new tyres will be about 7% bigger than the 16's? If so, then yes your Speedo should then read almost exactly accurately. However, it will mean that your odometer will be under reading by the same...

Swamper/AT wheels with 4 season tyres

Thanks Danny, Your reply was a lot of help. Do you put the 235/60s on the rear wheels? So if I’m correct, the 255/55s will not rub if I use spacers? I have seen a few people on here stating that they “will not rub under any circumstances” on standard suspension. That’s what makes the subject...

    AT3 tyres? 235 55 18 or 235 60 18?

235/60/18 is about 7.2% bigger than the OE claytons fitted with 215/65/16 tyres that my van left the factory on. I went for 235/55/18 which is 4.1% bigger than OE and I still noticed the increase in gearing. I lost about 4MPG by fitting the bigger wheels and tyres. I wouldn't want to go as big...

    18” or 19”?

Thanks for info, interesting your comment that the OEM Sportsline looking undersized and possible looking under-tyred. your opinion is interesting and gives room for thought so I thank you for that. if I going to the cost and expense of changing then maybe I should be looking at 19s not...

    AT3 tyres? 235 55 18 or 235 60 18?

Evening bud, I have run both sizes and both work perfectly. No rubbing in any situation. White van is 55s and Grey is 60s

    AT3 tyres? 235 55 18 or 235 60 18?

My OE tyres on Claytons are 205/65 R16. So the 235/60R18 are 9% (about 60mm bigger) than those. Thats a lot. By the way, how do you know you lost 4mpg?

General Grabber AT3 vs Avon AX7

Sorry pal, more time to reply....i posted the below to another member a while ago. I took the van to Spain this year when it was 44 degrees, lots of stone off road tracks and the tyres are still brand new, now 31k... I always use AT3'S on my Transporters. 1st set did 47k, 2nd set did 45k and...

I've got 235/55/18 on steels and I personally wouldn't want to raise the gearing any more so I wouldn't go with 235/60/18.

255 55 18 - about to order but this forum has got me worried!!

On standard suspension, no spacers, using amarok steels I have run 235/55/18 and 235/60/18 and both sizes are 100% perfect. No rubbing in any situation even towing 2.5t across rutted tracks.
