The FB poster got it partly right..
The double pole RCD will switch the neutral, but the issue with campsite electric supplies, particularly those on the continent, is the live and neutral can be crossed if the plug is inserted the wrong way round (2 pin plug can be inserted both ways).
This can...
So is my suggestion of a double pole MCB rated at say 20A for the main incoming switch (don't need an RCD because that will be covered by the RCBO's alongside it, 20A to avoid nuisance tripping over campsite breaker) and a few RCBO's with switched neutrals for each output to sockets a good...
Cigarette lighter sockets are a proper PITA
Mine appears to be permanently live. If I get the cover off will I find a switchedlive in there? or do I need to wire in a switch into a replacement panel?
PS: o/p hope you solved your problem.
1) Does the dash show tailgate open/closed correctly?
2) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 6 when door is open/ajar/closed?
3) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 8 when you operate tailgate outside switch?
4) What does OBDeleven Central...
Thanks Grim Reaper. I took it for granted that a UK Campervan parts company 'The Van Build' would be selling the correctly regulated parts for a EHU. I will definitely be sending that back and going for one with the double pole MCB's
...fitting a Clayton LPS II to my 6.1, for charging with the vehicle alternator they suggest the unit is switched via the D+ connection in the fuse board, I'm guessing thats a switchedlive, just wondering which fuse is safe to plunder. Sadly I'm not really clued up on modern vehicle electrics...
Hi im just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get a live and a switchedlive feed from the interal fuse box for caravan 13 pin electrics. I currently have the bypass relay spiced into my wiring and to upgrade to the 13pin electrics i need a live and a switchedlive if anyone has any...
They are perm live and there is no switched cable behind. The easiest way is to drop a new cable to the fuse panel below the gear lever and use a piggy-back fuse off one of the switched central fuses. I’ve done that with both of mine and swapped the bottom one to a USB socket while at it.
Hi, well i tested the fuses and live on both sides, so I messed about with the blower switch and the lights came on, I have a Caddy van and the circulation light comes on wether you have the fan on or not, so I think I was fooled, Thanks for the help anyway everybody

With the switch OFF the live data does not change when the set/reset are pressed but when the switch is ON it changes so mechanically it is working and that is why I checked the wiring.
Thank you for your support, really appreciate. Scratching my head here
I have checked the wiring between BCM and stalks and tried another set of stalks.
The live data in engine is different but this is with the switch off
This is with switch on
...and working. (Better than expected too)
Dab issue is fixed
CarPlay is almost fixed awaiting a part
Lastly on my kenwood setup I had a switchedlive feed from my leisure system that would power my headunit when we are camping so that I never had to leave the keys in the ignition and the...
I took recommendation from Roamer when doing my install and fitted a 16A Double Pole 2 Module Bidirectional C Curve 10kA 30mA Type A RCBO close to the hook up point (cant remember the actual required distance; either 50cm or 1 mtr max). I have a single mains circuit running into the van. I...
So when the engine is running and lights switched off, you have drls only? Then when you switch on side lights, it stays the same and your tail and number plate lights come on? If so, what's the issue with that? And if the tail and number plate lamps remain on during dip and main beams then your...
