Did they even ask if cambelts been changed?
I had egr pipe replaced on last van for not much over £250 if I remember rightly and a full service for just over £300 using all genuine parts from my local indie
I’d be picking van up and moving on for another inspection and quote

All changed June 2023.
However if he agreed to change he cambelt then that is part of a verbal contract.
Had the aux belt and tensioner changed by SB motors on my drive at home, specialises in VW's, did a good job, only problem is he recommended the cambelt gets changed soon so going to have to get him back!!
...went in this morning for a DSG oil change and a couple of recalls but ended up having:
- DSG oil change
- brake fluid change
- new pollen filter
And apparently it also has:
Leaky front shock
Leaking water pump (was replaced last June when the cambelt was done)
Expecting a large(ish) bill!
I’m trying to work out what my new van will have had done at its last service, I specifically asked about its Cambelt and was told all servicing was up to date, but not a specific answer about the belt, I also don’t have a service book and was told it is all online and emailed a certificate of...
...Park Motor Co. Highams Park Motor Company – The only alternative to a main dealer… The BMW & German Car Specialists
Just got Filters, Cambelt, Pump, Oil change.
They looked at service history and were clear about what should be looked at next and what urgency... or not was needed. Didnt try...
That is real shocking paranoia.
Before coming to this forum I never heard of any commercial vehicle HAVING to do the belt thay early. BTW I never heard of a VW Transporter with a failed timing belt, so it was probably olny a service mismanagement issue that now VW has corrected. Any decent...
Cambelt was last done in feb 22 by Salop vans, at around 105k (going by the mot mileage 3 days before it was done) so would I be right in thinking there’s about another year until it needs doing? Although I guess they’ll let me know what sort of condition it’s in at the major service.
Thanks for the log. Below GREEN=good, RED'ish=bad
It seems the ECU tries to drive fuel pressure regulator valve (IDE07822) when cranking as expected.
However, the logged current (IDE05632) should peak to 500-700 mA to build up the pressure when cranked. Now nothing happens. Also at the rest...
...before being converted to a camper 2 years ago. I’ve seen the service history and it’s seems to have had everything needed done including cambelt when conversion was done. Only thing niggling me is that it has 149k on the clock. Anything I should look out for tomorrow? I assume that if week...
Hi guys and girls just after some information please if anyone could help me my t6 has just had cambelt water pump and crank seal changed. There is a fault code for the intercooler waterpump. Can someone tell me if this is the same waterpump that's just been changed that's driven by the cambelt...

There is plenty of info in the search, perhaps too much - I think you will find post #726 is still the definitive answer. Personally I am not sure I would wait 28 years (as I cover approx 5000 miles...
Ouch, has it escaped further damage? Let us hope so, no idea the expense and difficulty. Really sorry to hear that just as you where considering expanding the leisure side of things .:(
...£40k for a decent spec 2022 plate?
Reliability seems to be hit and miss reading the forum (But then so does every car after 2015) What issues could I inherit and what to look out for?
I guess FSH, DSG serviced at 40k and Cambelt at 5 years should be the minimum requirements.
Cheers in...
