I bought a kit from @Absolut5 for my Kenwood headunit to operate from my leisure battery as you require. Drop them a line with head unit details. If they can, they will certainly do so.
Hi @madaxe I have what sounds like the exact same problem, turned off last night after a short drive then went to move as I was someones parking space (!) and nothing from the ignition, no cranking and no clicks, but all lights on dash as normal and battery is fine, and then flashing glow plug...
50w dash panel,
or 100-200w portable panel.
connected to a MPPT solar controller.
connect to the starter battery, either via the 12v dash socket (80w panel max)
or connect to battery direct.
DONT CLIP TO or BOLT to the battery NEG POST.
use another NEG point. - ie headlight bracket bolt...
At least one of the fuses under and to the right of the steering column has a key-on live as I used it for my dashcam. Just needed a piggy back plug for that and the livefeed.
Hi there, that’s a good shout as I’ve not tried it running, I thought the power came from the piggyback fuse, on the instructions it doesn’t mention a livefeed, I will start it tomorrow and see what happens
How many components can I safely power from one ignitionlivefeed?
Currently I have tapped into my radio ignitionlive with a 5A fuse
This then goes to a small fuse board/block whigh is then distributed as the ignitionlive for:
300W roof light bar
2x 54W rear light bar
2x Heated seats
Is...
There must be an ignitionlivefeed somewhere to tell the system when the engine is running (ignition is on). It would make sense to find this rather than plumbing in any new circuits.
A simple switch on this line would enable you to override the safety cutout.
I wonder if the cut out exists...
Ah I see now. Relay 100 is fed through the loom and out to an 80A fuse then on to battery. Is the ignitionlive fed from somewhere else? I don’t see another cable?
So I just fitted some swanky new spots on to the A bar and they look great. The spots have these nice DRL strips in each side and my plan was to tap into the DRL feed from the R/H headlight connector, This tap worked great for main beam and for the Sport DRL into dipped beam, but the Headlight...
That 6-pin connector is the instrument dimmer, right? If so, the fuse is just a tap into ignitionlive, not dimmed. Could have been a feed for anything… for example a tracker :geek:
Edit: and that plastic conduit might indicate it’s gone through bulkhead in it’s prior life. But just maybe. I...
USB power was needed, so i looked at that next :
we looked at that here : 12v Aux Feed + 5xusb Charging From Aux Battery - Today's Install
we also looked at AUX battery 12v feeds : 12v Igntn Feed + 5xusb Charging From Ign Feed - Today's Install
not forgetting 12v sockets ...
so background here:

Thanks for your reply, im a bit dubious about the 12v feed that powers the current 7 pin by pass as i cant find where it is fed from i suspect just the rear interior lights or similar. Im hoping to pick up two permanent lives from under the pass seat one for the bypass relay and one for the...
After originally thinking my van had the factory fit auxiliary battery option ticked, I’ve found I don’t have a 100A feed from SA3 but instead 50a from SA8.
So I intend to run an engine-run / ignition-live / D+ wire from T73a/3
I’ve got some crimps left over from the LED Headlamp retrofit...
Any idea what wire is the BCM feed under passenger seat? I have a Caravelle so hopefully there's one. I need an engine on feed to power a relay that I want to use so my inverter only functions with engine running so this sounds ideal.
...the ignitionlive as it doesn’t have power unless the ignition is on so won’t drain the starter.
This post should help with the ignitionlivefeed.

I’d need to see your leisure battery wiring in more detail to...
