    18” Tyre recommendations

Remember tyre widths also depend on rim widths. Plenty of tables on the internet showing best fit between the two. Rim widths have a maximum and minimum safe tyre width. From what I’ve seen when looking at 18” rims (something I plan to swap my 16s for in the future) 235/50 or 255/45 seem the...

Today has not gone as planned!!🤦‍♀️

What happened to that "99y" post that came through on my email notification? Either way, seriously get loads rated tyres and to avoid doubt get 103 rated, I started out with HiFly 255 45 18 and these are still less than £80 each fitted at various places, decent quiet tyres too. Car tyres on a 2...

Today has not gone as planned!!🤦‍♀️

Make sure you go 103 rated to cover whatever version Transporter you've got, stick with the width at 255 if the wheels are around 8.5" wide, going to 45 which is the profile VW suggest for 18" wheels and you'll have a shed load of choice from budget to Rolex. Just in case I'm going off on a...

Sold **SOLD** T6 T28 50mm lowering springs from CRS

T28 CRS 50mm lowering springs. I’ve had this setup on my van for just over 18 months, but having finished the camper conversion I’’ve upgraded to the H&R Coilover setup to get my saggy arse sorted. Vans just passed an MOT so no issues with the springs. Perfect for someone wanting to lower a...

    Swamper styling suggestions…..

This is my van. 40mm lower springs than standard on 255/45/18 tyres on MoMo wheels. Would swamper tyres look good and also improve ride comfort? Would it make fuel consumption worse?

Wheels again - What difference does width make?

Yeah, I can see that's one of the standards. But it's the fact it's 2.5% smaller than my current setup that makes me second guess it all. Do I go with the standard, or a match of the diameters I have now?

Best wheel and tyre size for van

255/45/18 is almost identical to standard overall diameter (standard being 215/60/17) 255/55/18 takes it to almost identical diameter to my 235/65/17 Falkens...makes your speedo under read slightly...70 is actually 72 ish Can't comment on the width of yours, but would have thought it'd be fine...

Show me your Calibre Five wheels

...to hide the, and they’re always dirty, I’ll be going for the silver / anthracite. I’ll probable wrap them in Continental PremiumContact 255/45/18 103 XL to keep the rolling radius as close as I can to the underslung spare I carry as it’s a 4Motion & DSG. Though I may swap the 17” spare for...

    Tyre Pressures 255/45/18

255/45/18 is a standard size and pressures should be on your tyre pressure sticker. Pic of mine and a Cali one below:

    Tyre pressure T28

I have just fitted new 18" wheels with Bridgestone 255/45 R18 103Y tyres. The tyre pressure plate on the door suggests 44-48 PSI for the front, 36-48 PSI for the rears. On the Bridgestone tyre wall it states "never inflate over 40 PSI". Because of this, the tyre fitter said he would not inflate...

    Devonport’s

...centre caps to run with yet. Depends how some trim detailed makes them look. Currently they are a touch grey compared to the gloss black wheels. What I can confirm is that these tyres feel night and day better than the 255/45/18 Toyo’s which came off the van. I am loving this choice, fair play.
