Devonport’s

I am still thinking of that Semi Swamper look for my T32. I like the OZ Rally Legend’s, but actually really like the Devonport’s on a local can too.

Ignore my ignorance, but are these suitable for a T32 T6?

If so, what’s the widest tyre that I can get away with. I want the rugged look but still tarmac friendly, so thinking Wildpeak’s perhaps?

What do narrower wheels feel like compared to my Sportline wheels with 255/45/18’s?

Perhaps a really obvious question, but are the bolts and locking bolts from my Sportline’s suitable for using with my new Devonport’s?

They do look cool, fair play.

K02’s are a touch chunky for me though, given it will be 90-95% road use.

Yellow sidewall lettering is superb on that photo too.
Like most AT tyres BFG KO2 will start to wine and rumble as the mileage mounts up they are really intended for people with an outdoor life off roading , Farming , Forestry and so on. AT are not the best performers on the road especially the wet or needing to emergency brake. You would be far better off with AS Tyres Michelin CrossClimate3 are out now but not yet in all sizes. Perelli also make a very good performer also doing well in tests and trials They are good enough off road for most people use campsites, farm tracks and so on.

I was thinking of Wildpeak’s as they appear to be the ideal halfway at the moment.

It is your choice but why, when so much better tyres are available I have just named two but many of them will do a better safer job on the road and last considerably longer.

I hear you but I am looking for a certain look as I like the style of those and they get a decent review.

What about the Michelin Agilis CrossClimate…. they do them in 17” and they’ve definitely got more of a rugged look than the regular CrossClimate range. There are members on here using them and rate them highly. If they did them in 18” I’d definitely consider them. Here’s a picture I found quickly on Google….

I have wildpeaks and when the time comes I’ll be having the same again (also on Devonports)

I had Uniroyal Rainsports previously and no noticeable difference in road noise.

Thanks guys. Having read more reviews, including the Agilis CC, I think the Wildpeak’s are what I want to go for. The second choice being the Yoko Geolander’s.

I went for the 225s on anthracite Devonports with std centrecap and bolt covers just to make it subtly different. It was already on -40 H&Rs

Thanks @Paynewright. Very strange timing as I was out the garage last night ceramic coating the fronts and so have taken the standard centre caps off. I was thinking exactly the same as what you have done, as wheels look very cool without the caps.

I am lowered on Sportline springs, so 30mm I believe. Any reason why you went 225? Concerns about rubbing or wanting a more subtle look?

Just to keep the rolling radius as close to OEM as possible to minimise impact on speedo albeit this can be adjusted with VCDS. Its something I need to amend as the speedo does under read slightly. At a registered 70mph GPS says 72.

For a given aspect ratio, the height (rolling radius) increases with width.

Ok. Makes sense. I will go with 235 or 225 I think. Seen others using 245 but that seems nuts on a 7” wheel.

Yes, the height is a percentage of the width, so 235/65 is about 6.5mm taller than 225/65.

They look good. I’m thinking about getting mine done in gloss black to match the gloss black trim updates. Now I’ve seen yours I’m more convinced that gloss black would be the way to go. Just need the money now.
Considering I am not going the full Swamper route, I thought gloss would be a cool alternative. It has crossed my mind whether to go gloss black arches perhaps. Could be interesting. Might do the gloss front grilles whatever happens though. Badges the same and maybe mirrors. All in good time though.

Had 235/65/17 Wildoeak’s fitted today. Just need to clean them and the van before posting photos up here.

I am undecided on what centre caps to run with yet. Depends how some trim detailed makes them look. Currently they are a touch grey compared to the gloss black wheels.

What I can confirm is that these tyres feel night and day better than the 255/45/18 Toyo’s which came off the van. I am loving this choice, fair play.
