What colour wheel? Team Bayleaf Green

Lol. Oh dear. I may have opened up a can of worms. I got black wheels on my white t6 at moment but there's just too much black for me but the bronze takes away all that. Its all down to personal taste but at mo, bronze is definitely the best looking in my eyes.

What are the benefits of an alloy wheel?

But they do corrode!! Avoid any of the diamond cut wheels as they get 'white worm' after a couple of years. Most people get alloys so they can have larger diameters and widths. It's almost always for aesthetics as they usually end up far more heavy than the stock wheels.

Hi guys, Contemplating some new 20" wheels for my T6 4Motion. Really like the looks of these ... ( I'm guessing going staggered is a bad idea on a 4motion though ?) Leighton Video Can anyone comment on the durability of the finish over the course of say 9-12 months ? I have a sneaking...

    Diamond cut alloys or lookalikes?

With the current trend to diamond cut spokes but the problems with the lacquer chipping on diamond cut surfaces, has anyone mimicked it by painting the diamond cut surface silver and the rest of the wheel black? Thinking that a £500+ refurb could bring some older alloy styles bang up to date.

Any idea why this has happened?

I parked the camper up in my garage 10 months ago and only just took it back out today. Whilst parked up there has been some sort of reaction on my alloys. The weird thing is it seems to be below the clear coat as it still feels smooth and doesn’t wash off. Any idea how this could have...

    Which shed?

Yes, metal and plastic sheds do a really good job of supporting condensation, meaning the forks on your mountain bikes and that stack of alloy wheels you were keeping safe over winter will emerge covered in rust and white worm damage next spring...

How good is the finish on your wheels !!

Diamond cut face wheels here as I like the look, regarding white worm and kerbing these are both going to happen but then so will coastal erosion, house price rises and the threat of unemployment... I have a fairly comprehensive list of world problems that we're powerless to solve as a PDF...

Hey @RustyMac i am looking at what you have mentioned for my 20” wheels. Diamond cut Wolfrace, in need a TLC due to the dreaded lacquer worm and kerbs. Mine are going to be stripped, cleaned up, sprayed silver, baked then two coats of lacquer, baked again. £408 all in, takes my guy two days.

    Wolfrace Wheels ... reliability?

As Deaky says. The diamond cut wheels have a clear coat on the face that chips really easy. Water gets in and makes its way like a little worm burrowing. I've had three sets of diamond cut wheels on various cars and all suffered within a year. Powder coating is the way forward.

anyone running Autec 18" Uteca (Type U)

...like those wheels needs to be well looked after and regularly cleaned with non acidic products to avoid problems with what’s known as wheel worm. Any stone chips or scuffs that might appear need to be repaired as soon as possible. If you do go for those wheels I’m an Autec dealer and would...
