Rubbing wires causing breakdown, just out of warranty.. Your thoughts?

Would that happen to be the same company who wont recall vehicles that allow toxic diesel fumes to enter the cab, from a not fit for purpose, EGR pipe. Or perhaps the same company who neglect to recall vehicles with (fire hazard) headlight units, with dodgy electrical contacts. Funnily enough I...

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

...job to swap over. The first obvious symptom will be the smell of exhaust fumes coming into the cab, and the confirmation is the hissing coming from behind the engine. On that note, if you or a mod wants to change the title to 'exhaust fumes in cab' or something more suitable for the search box.

I can recommend a good Adblue ‘fix’ for you…. get in touch with @Dav-Tec

Egr failure, particle filter, lamdba 2017 204

A typo? Perhaps P20EE00 - this is a SCR NOx fault, and actually fixed by fairly recent engine software update. At the moment I would ignore this. The fault code doesn't necessarily imply faulty sensor (P2238=signal short to ground). More likely faulty wiring. See another Transporter with same...

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

Need to get the van into the dealers... but checking on here first for ideas? Everytime I start the van, there is strong smell of exhaust fumes in the cab. Its fine when driving. But come to a stop and the engine does its stop start thing and it smells again..? 2017 T6 204 4motion with 22000...

Just wanted to give a quick update on this previous post…. Recently I took my van for a service and MOT (this being it’s first MOT since the above EGR and ADBLUE ‘solution’) and I’m happy to say it sailed through the MOT with no advisories at all…. just a nice compliment on my van from the MOT...

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

Given that this fairly regular failure results in toxic exhaust gases entering the cab isn’t it worthy of a recall / re-design? I have some experience with much larger engine exhaust system bellows but the principal is the same. The affected pipe is running in two planes (90 bend) but the...

    EGR Cooler replacement cost

I’ve just had similar issue, but the blockage has cause the EGR pipe to split sending exhaust fumes into the cab, it’s been pretty horrendous. Mines a 67 plate but seems this is a common issue tho my first time! Kinda weird people talking about supermarket diesel. I’ve ran diesels for 20 years...

Ah mate that's great news. It's always a pleasure never a chore to see you Matt. Tracy knows I'm like a pig in sh#t fettling with a van from the VW stable. Fred truly is brilliant mate. Thanks for the feed back

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

Just done mine (2018 DSG, 40500 miles). There was a choice of two from TPS, a short one and a longer one depending on the manifold. Mine was the short one like the photos above, but the new one now has more/tighter packed bellows, and costs £88.61. Wouldn't have been too bad to change if I...

Please bear with me on this, I know it looks a bit long-winded, but I think it’s worth having a bit of background detail…. My van is the EU6 102 engine with adblue. Sometime in June the dreaded flashing coil light made an appearance one afternoon when I’d just started the van and I was leaving...

Great to hear you are now running fault free mate. It is a breath of fresh air (no pun Intended) when the rear EGR is removed and deleted. The chap who works with Chris on the mapping is a bloody genius and if the maps he provides are good enough for race teams then any T6 would benefit from...

EGR flexi-pipe: Exhaust Fumes In Cab, Hissing From Engine Bay.

Safe? I'm not sure. My dealer told me not to drive the van when mine split, and actually asked me to get it recovered to them, due to the damage it can do to the engine. I'm not sure how true that actually is, but I ended up changing the pipe myself. I've just changed it again after it split in...

Vw Transporter T6 T32 2017 4motion Cab Smells Of Fumes.

Hi all, anyone had this? 24k on the clock. I've just had it in for a service at VW Liverpool they reckon its the diesel regeneration system. It's not all the time but when it's cold it's worse. Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers Terry

T6 - Diesel smell in the cab

Thank you for your response! I was convinced that the problem was the EGR pipe until I dissasembly it and check that it was in mint condition... The part number of the Pipe is 04L 131 521 AG V100. I don't hear this hissing noise that everyone tells... Looking the Values of the DPF regeneration...

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

Interesting. I posed the same question back in June as that was my theory: https://www.t6forum.com/threads/egr-flexi-pipe-exhaust-fumes-in-cab-hissing-from-engine-bay.8076/post-287111 My other thought is that this causes a boost leak, which means it runs rich, which will create more soot and...

New potential common issue? [Manifold crack]

It's no secret that my T6 is used every day, up and down the UK racking up the miles. I was also one of the first to find the EGR Flexi-pipe split issue because of this. So am I looking at the next fault with the T6? Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I feel as it's not something I've read about on...

Screen wash smell in cab and Sat Nav freezing

I think the blowers work similar to when you put it in reverse ie it temporarily engages internal recirculation of air instead of drawing air in from outside to stop exhaust fumes/screen wash from entering the cab ?
