    Front main oil seal leak

...a month or so ago and took out All in package so have warranty. It’s had some work done but one thing not being covered is a front main oil seal leak, apparently a flange low down around the cambelt/tensioner. It’s a cambelt off and drop the sump job. Sadly it’s had a recent cambelt or that...

So I sat in a new Ford Custom (T7 Transporter) and here's my thoughts.

Sorry guys, I'm nearly a year late giving my opinion to all the above. I've got a T6 KOMBI 19 REG 4 motion T32 bitdi 204PS and I'm absolutely love it. I've got all the extras on it including comfort dash, Black/Red leather captains seats and fortunately mine came with a sunroof. I get the oil...

Sliding will not lock from remote key fob.

I searched the forum and found a post about the grease drying up in the lock mechanism. The OP drilled a hole in the plastic case, squirted with 3 in 1 oil and sealed hole with sealant. I purposely didnt use WD40 as this tends to evaporate and you’re back to square 1. This cured mine of the...

    TDI v Bi TDI

My old 204 was trouble free over 6 years (crank seal leak excepted), used around .5ltr of oil between yearly services, no smoke, no dpf issues etc. Get them to temperature, let the regens complete, let it cool down after a run, use premium diesel and a squirt of Millers/Hydra and I don’t think...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

Well, finally, the engine is being fitted and had a look around the old engine before it goes back. Oh my god, I can't believe the amount of damage it has caused. It's buggered the turbo, crank seal bearings, and everything else that oil has come in contact with. But the crazy thing is it drove...

Warranty oil leak claim refused under extended

Oil leaks are not covered under the ALL-IN plan. But are covered under the Factory Extended warranty. As you mentioned MOT well assum you have the ALL-IN cover. Crankshaft main seal is a common item to need addressing. (Had mine done at 60k under factory warranty) Have they quoted you for it...

    VW All-in plan

What he said. 100k miles or 6yrs old max at the start. (It's a 24mnth policy) And you can't have two concurrent policy. So you need to wait till your exiting is up, then if eligible you can start a new one. Mine will be over 6yr old next time round so I need to see what's available, if...

    Power steering fluid

It’s synthetic, don’t use mineral based. If you stick your van details in opie oils website and you’ll get some options. There’s a chat function and they can give an instant match without obligations. I used Titan CHF 202 when flushing and renewing the oil. My advice is NOT to follow those who...

Blue smoke out of exhaust at 2-3000rpm

Get a compression test done twice. Mine is not using any oil or hardly any and hasn't lost any power but had a habit of puffing out abit of smoke on set off. First test was decent pressures so we thought it was injectors failing but when he redid the test it failed miserably. The oil residue in...

Turbo/super charger underboost fault codes - 204 DSG

That’s my theory. As for poor design; I would expect any manufacturer to carry out overspeed trials of any turbocharger for an extended period before entering production, however that would be done with perfect lubrication - pressure, temperature and zero contaminants.

    Oil leak around nearside driveshaft

Hi, I’ve been noticing a bit of a judder on the steering wheel. Seems worse when turning left. When stationary the last half a turn of the steering is quite bad with the wheel and tyres shaking quite a bit. I’m guessing driveshaft/CV is shot so looking to get that replaced. But when I was...
