Actually you're right, @Salty Spuds it's using 24Ah a day at an amp average draw. I originally ran the figures at 0.5amp but then noticed a tracker and a dash cam - so it's likely more.

Howdens was asking for a tracker s5 to be fitted before they would insure anyone , is this the normal for the vans??

I was told the same by just kampers then it turned out the insurance with the tracker was more expensive than without! I wonder whether it’s more of an exercise in getting people to commit to a yearly contract on the tracker.

It depends what else is connected to the battery and drawing power when the van is shut down. It sounds like you have a tracker, which will draw current. Anything else ? Pete

Fortunately LV did skim a little of the premium for me, but not enough to warrant buying the tracker, that was more for my peace of mind.

What's that £200 tracker @Ali-G ? It makes sense for future years insurance to get something sorted soon. Sell some of that surplus gear you have stashed away?

I know people don't like trackers but I do like mine. It has a map with location and the ability to immoblise the van remotely. Metatrak S 7. The one time I started the vehicle without the fob, the most bored sounding bloke rang me immediately to check.

Chilli Jam Vans in Hayle fitted a Meta Trak S5 tracker/immobiliser for me. Highly recommended.
