Just checked and I actually have 985n ones
I don’t remember getting them but you can see with the T5 “type” rack fitted and some soundproofing/insulation fitted they are not quite up to the job:

...Save money, weight and time and do not cover 100% in 2mm butyl. Learn/recognise the difference between sound deadening (panel boom) and closed cell thermal insulation , 6mm+ which will also have noise reducing properties

VW T6 Screen Cover NEW POP TOP VERSION deluxe tailored black out camping cover
I’ve gone for an insulated Silver Screen and this is surplus to requirements. Packs up really nice and compact.
Think I paid about £60 for it last year.

We use a Just Kampers insulated cover. Folds and squashes up small enough. Used it last night in minus 6 and woke up to no condensation or ice on the inside of the screen and front windows. Other windows were frozen on the INSIDE.
Just purchased a T6 high top, completely off the cuff! Now have insulation and windows installed, now planning electrics! This is my downfall, taking it slow and researching as much as I can.
So far, I’m enjoying the challenge
Has the van been sound-deadened and insulated? This will help reduce panel resonance.
Also, the suspension is designed to take weight and we find that our camper (still on factory wheels/suspension) is a whole lot less noisy when fully loaded with all the camping gear. You could try adding...
Intermittently faulty thermostat on the immersion maybe? Would explain the odd patterns of overnight usage. If the cylinder takes around 2 to 3hrs to heat up, I’d expect the insulation on a modern Unvented cylinder to stop drawing power at the point the stat is satisfied & hold that temp
...it has already been ply'd, lined with carpet and the flooring has been done. It looks great but there aren't any specific thermal or sound insulation pads stuck to the panels or wheel arches etc. In terms of when I'm driving, the noise of the van is pretty quiet but I'm conscious that the van...
Your a star Phil Thankyou I wasn’t going to do the cab area or the floor as I’m keeping the insulated rubber mat out the Kombi where I got the seats and belts from.
Do you think 10m2 of carpet would be enough and 10 tins of spray for ceiling and walls?
Full insulation, carpet and ply kit from Combe Valley Campers. Hopefully it arrives before Wednesday when my windows are going in, so I can start fitting it ASAP. Looking forward to this stage, will follow their great Youtube vids too. It will definitely make it feel more like a camper/day van...
Hi @roadtripper
It’s a T6, and I took the floor up recently to insulate and thats all I have under that section.
The seat base with battery try was my addition when I went from a double to a single base.
I’ve attached a photo I took at that time..

...and the thicker ply. That's the floor i think it was Howdens, we were recommended this type by our friends conversion shop. The carpet lining we done sound deadening & thermo both by Dodo and stuck on. Then i think we put the roll of insulation in all the gaps ready for the carpet to be done
Quite like the Camouflage Screen CoverI. Mine is Black but would prefer camo for better stealth and background merging. I have added silver foil type bubble wrap under mine for increased thermal insulation.
...deaden / insulate in some of the panels. I need to get a trim tool to check in the roof.
I was looking to get the dodo mat deadening and insulation kit as I think it will probably do a much better job. If I pulled out all that loft insulation stuff it's obviously going to leave crap stuck to...
