Soft close on a t5 Retrofit?

Hi I have a old 2008 t5, I would really like the soft close I drive a lot of people that don’t know how hard you need to close it. I read it’s possible on the the t5.1 with a lot of time and money. Is the t5 too old? Or is there a aftermarket soft close you could buy?

    Soft close sliding door retrofit

Is this an easy job? DIY or does it need coding? For those that have it - any issues or regrets? I am trying to engineer out all of the annoying things from current van in the new build and having to slam the sliding door in the middle of the night is definitely one of them!

    Soft close sliding door retrofit

There is no mounting bracket? You remove the existing striker and use those bolt holes to install the soft close module. As for fitting, looks like you may need to remove the heater to get access. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/power-latching-retrofit-kits.1584/post-69397

    Hi . 2x T6 Caravelle’s, one modded for Dolomites

Mine has electric sliding doors, I think they were standard on the executive model. Manual tailgate but with soft close which is very nice. Mine has ACC now, but previously didn't - I had to get it retrofitted. The primary reason I went with mine, aside from the LED headlights which are an...

    Hi . 2x T6 Caravelle’s, one modded for Dolomites

Very nice. I think the original owner of mine deleted electric sliding doors :( Which is a shame. It has everything else; LED lights, sunroof, etc. The 2019 van that we bought new was over £66k list price (heavily discounted though!), so difficult to compare to that!!!

VCDS Hi everyone im after some advice. I've just finished fitting my power tailgate and soft close latch. Sold Sliding door power latching retrofit kit

Yes the cables can be run low instead of over the roof but its the link cable from module to motor that would be short I still do these kits so can make LWB versions if your after one https://www.t6forum.com/threads/power-latching-retrofit-kits.1584/

New Van - but which one?

My two pence - if they are factory swivels then, assuming the rest of the van checks out, I’d go for that one. A single non swivel passenger captains chair will set you back around £1000 to retrofit and factory swivels are far superior to any aftermarket swivel plus, they are Uber rare to find...

What have I done.. What is next?

Here is my list if anyone wants to know more about what I have done to my Cali Ocean 2016. I think I will end up with the SF tuning Panamera full kit on it next, but I have to deal with the minor issue of being made redundant and starting up my own business.. as soon as that's out of the way...
