As @oldiebut goodie said it sounds like the thin green and yellow linbus communication cable has rotted out inside the corrugated pvc tube that covers a section of the harness where it goes along the underside of the front bumper on its way to the alternator.
The local main dealer here found it...
Does the van struggle to start at times and has the stop/startstopped working as these point to the starter battery being forked and as has been said already low power can set off unrelated "passive sporadic" faults definitely don't automatically entertain bent conrods or similar dead engine...
Park/neutral switch input circuit.
Hei maybe somebody knows what could be the problem , I have this fault when car is warm it shows that car is not in parking but actualy it is so when I stop the car I cant start it again while it will not cool down , when its cold It starts perfect . Car is...

I done the same as Green Giant. The Autoterm heater detects low voltage and will stop the heater from starting to preserve your battery. Have a look at a Topdon JS3000 jump pack. Reasonably priced but very good.
StartStop and AC interact in a subtly more complex way than, say, the fan speed.
On mine the StartStop and Climate Control will activate with the AC on but it's clearly kicking the engine back on when it knows there is a demand on the compressor.
Amazing never spotted the difference in IP ratings, spent couple days comparing the two. Will buy the IP65 version as seems more compact and around same price
Just ordered AMT12-2 will see how it works on standard settings with fogstar and startstop battery.
Thanks
I can not claim to be an expert by any stretch of my imagination but does sound that you have a fault. I would suggest having it investigated for fault codes. Never know, it might be a simple fix but on he other hand it may be something else and i would have thought it better to know and then...
Hi Folks
I came over a post on one of the FB forums where a chap was selling a plug in system that prevented the auto start/stop working.
It was second hand as he had used it but was selling his T6 and had no use for it but I can’t find the post again.
Is there a system that stops the auto...
With the startstop system the start is entirely controlled by the ECU not the ignition lock switch - the ignition lock switch is just another "please start" signal.
On mine I'm now just used to pressing the brake (DSG not manual) and flicking the ignition on briefly. Try it on yours.
Hi folks,
VW T6 T30 SWB Diesel 2.0 TDI 150 Highline
New to T6 Forum and joined primarily due to earlier issue with Stop/Start not working. Garage VDS pointed to Alternator but alas turned out to be exactly what had been reported in a T6 Forum post and that being 3 chaffed cables in the cable...
If you have startstop (and you likely do) then this is an easy way to tell - it won't stop if it's regening.
Even if you don't like startstop during general driving try and get into the habit of turning it on when you park up and letting the engine stop itself - the system tracks several...
Got mine fitted today, they seemingly had a right nightmare with the coding. Had to go back after the stopstart triggering while indicating caused the dash light to quick flash. They sorted it though so all done!
I have a vw crafter daua
Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't
Code p0562 appears
I've changed the battery and it's still the same
It works then when I stop the van and try to start it again it doesn't start and it can start in 3 hours or 2 days.
What could it be? I'm going mad
Thanks for that
Offering lane assist. Have it on both our other cars and find it useful for preventing crashes whilst trying to stop alll the kids starting WWIII
And if you haven't disabled the fantastic stop/start function (for whatever multiple reason) the engine won't stop if it is doing a regen. For me, the only good thing about stop/start.
