Hello people,
Just recently bought my 2020 startline T6.1 and I'll be looking to get it to a level of going camping in it which I am very excited!
Annoyingly I have encountered an issue with my head unit and the Android auto system. The issues are...
1) having no sound whilst playing music...
...of that now. when they told me the issue in the garage I nearly fell off my chair because they said it would cost nearly £1000 to replace the sos unit (going off memory, could have been just over £1k).
I only went there as I wanted a software update to listen to music whilst driving with...
...SW update for the Discover media 5F infotainment module that VW released about 4-6wks ago.
My 20’ van had no wireless Android auto / random SOS dialling & loads of other irritations which this has solved all issues I was experiencing
My units SW version is in picture below it was 156 now 278
Thank you - and would you advise getting the outstanding issues fixed with VW first?
Apologies I have no idea how the "system" works, all I know is they tell me the boot delay issues are caused by the SOS module -and an independent VW specialist said it was more likely the "5F" module
Maybe because it is an Australian model and we don't have DAB or SOS it is not
connected.
I have looked everywhere and no other connectors for it to plug into.
Thanks
...us on here who've had a VanHaven digital dash with same issue
I do wonder if that's the issue, with the setup maybe? Do you have an issue with slow boot?
Mine got "fixed" with new infortainment 5f and sos module by VW.... however, 5 months on, it's happened again. Got it booked in with VW...
A few images of T6.1 we had in today for a Alpine Halo 905
we have retained -
SoS system
Vehicle settings using the Alpine interface
and now we have retained the USB C sockets
factory Microphone
This was installed along with our Signature audio
...(awful DAB reception, undertray disitegrated, crackly Bluetooth, cruise control often disengages because "sensor impaired", often goes into a reduced power mode with the diesel coil lamp flashing, water in tailgate, SOS call often unavailble etc etc) I don't think I'll ever buy another...
I feel your pain here. I had a similar wait time when the heater resistor failed in the first winter of ownership.....they would only replace it under warranty if the van came into the workshop to 'diagnose' but they were booked up for 4 months. I explained I was quite happy to fit it myself but...
...(starts, works for a minute, becomes unresponsive and turns itself off, repeat). Radio, nav, reverse cam all unusable. Coincided with SOS call red warning light also permanently on. Normally I’d chuck it into local VW, only problem being I’m away in Italy and France for another couple of...
