T6.1 vs T6 Shuttle buying advice

I'm wanting to buy a Shuttle very imminently. I was wondering if I could dive into the hive mind for your insight. My desired unicorn spec is a post-'68 SE 150 manual with rear AC and captain seats as must-haves. LWB and cruise are desirable. However, nothing has cropped up in my search so...

    Yet another T6.1 Suspension question!

Afternoon all, I have decided that I agree a tyre size change is needed but am torn with what to do. My current setup of 275/40R20's Front tyres are on 3mm so need a change so considering either 265/40R20 or 245/45R20 on the front keeping the rears as they are. Also considering I would like to...

    Want original stock suspension

I can't say tbh. What I do know is that the factory suspension is pants when the van is empty but that might not apply to you if it's a conversion. I lowered mine and widened the stance so it handles better on winding roads. Downside is it's not silky smooth on rougher roads. I'd suggest...

    Rust on sliding door channels

Can't help with advice of treating it as is but once you have it sorted there is a thread here of various ways to stop water sitting in that void: https://www.t6forum.com/threads/sliding-door-lower-roller-guide-channel-holding-water.45877/

    T6 Spare wheel removal issues.

According to my manual, the spare wheel is held on by two bolts. Bolt 1 is the retainer which you just slightly undo and Bolt 2 has to be totally removed in order to lower the wheel carrier, photo of manual below: Unfortunately, bolt 2 is fitted with this barbed top that just spins and won't...

    T6.1 Transporter 30mm lowering options

Hi, I am new here. Just bought a new T6.1 Kombi T32 DSG. I love it but wanted to get 20” wheels instead of the standard 17”. Bought and got fitted today the 20” Cades Hera wheels with tyres and the bouncy ride has got better. But the van looks odd. The gap between the top of the tyre and...

    Yet another T6.1 Suspension question!

I get what you are saying. I'm tempted myself, as I want it lower but not in a position to spend 1k plus on all new suspension. Mine currently sits quite level even though full camper conversion. So I presume I have uprated rear springs. The risk is that the rear sits lower if new springs are...

    H7 headlight qdjustment

Hi, I’ve just seen this thread and I’ve recently picked up some h7s to replace my h4s. Can I pick your brains on the process. I’ve plugged mine in and the incorrect lights come on and a bulb out light on the dash. Did you have to change any wiring or coding. Thanks for and advice!

    T5.1 Water Leak

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I recently bought a T5.1 2012 Highline 140 that partially converted. Just came home from our first outing and when I parked on the drive (slight incline, front wheels lower than rear) I noticed a concerning amount of liquid running from the bottom...

Unable to fit Vanstyle Thorsby side steps to a t6.1 as not enough holes underneath, anyone got round this? Now solved

Need to remove the under sill guards and cut them to allow the brackets to sit into the sill. I used a multi tool to cut them out. If you just remove the fixings closer to the sill then you can lower it, just make sure it doesn't pop the inner section by the exhaust.

    Thank you!

As I understand it, the optimum setting for any coilover set-up is somewhere in the centre of the range of settings. I'm a novice, so I am relying on the advice from experts such as Transporter HQ. The video - - has been very informative as far as I am concerned. The SoLow NSL has an upper...

    H&r 50mm springs

Yes Berger, I fitted front & back to my T6 2017 Highline a few weeks ago. Yes they are very reasonably priced & fairly easy to fit. I put them on the existing shockers & took a chance they would take the reduction in height ( only 70k miles ) & all went well. I did share on the forum also a few...

T6.1 RHD Manual, Heating stuck on cold

i'd like to add my thanks to sebastian747 for the video. I'd been dreading doing this job, having gone through the autumn and winter with a wooden spoon in the door pocket. Every thread you read on this subject makes mention of how awkward and fiddly this job is. It's a sure-fire five spanner...

T32 20" Tyres - What Do You Use?

Hi everyone I’m after some advice regarding tyre size best for 20” wheels, my van is a t32 with coil overs lowered about 60mm. When I bought wheel and tyres last year the advice from the company I purchased wheel/tyre package from was to go for 245/45/r20 103 rated, now I’m reading and watching...

    Soften up!

If you are suffering from the harsh ride, talk to @ CRS Performance and consider a suspension upgrade to KONI. I do not suggest lowering tyre pressures below manufacturers suggestions that could be illegal. However the larger tyres more voluminous tyres have lower pressures for instance mine...

    Dampers and springs

If you want to remain at factory height (as I did) I'd probably keep the factory springs and in order to reduce body roll in the corners I'd think about H&R Anti Roll Bars coupled with the Koni dampers that you're interested in. Just my opinion, it worked for me. I'd probably speak to a...

    Inlet manifold removal

Did my manifold over the weekend. It is a bit of a pig of a job but do-able DIY if you have patience and some tools. Key bits of advice from me: - The bolt behind the fuel pump can be accessed with a cut down M10 Spline. I cut to 50mm and then used a 10mm spanner on the bit. Just need...

    Show Us Ya 19s

Can anyone offer any advice. My van came with koni shocks and eibach adjustable comfort sport springs. 35-40mm I was due to fit my new 19's and then lower the rear on the adjustable spring cups to level the van as its currently much higher on the rear. Problem is the adjuster cup is totally...
