    180 Hp Bi-turbo T6. ( Australian Spec).

    From what I remember there was corrosion in the aluminium EGR heat exchanger which created aluminium oxide, the very same substance that is used in many abrasive papers. Not surprisingly the cylinder bores / pistons were destroyed causing excessive oil consumption.

    The T6 started on Euro 5 for the 180 bi turbo (like Mine) and euro 6 on the lower bhp then all on 6 soon after. No euro 4 that I am aware of .

    My Euro 5 180 bi-tdi is brilliant. Economy is fantastic (top end 40's), drives superb even when towing. And even better mine has a manual box.

    180 & 204 are bi turbo and both are different engines. All Euro 6 engines are ea288. The bi turbo ea288 is different for the single turbo variants. Also bi turbos are different sizes and in series with each other. Twin turbos are identical turbos on different manifolds.
