Hi I have a old 2008 t5, I would really like the soft close I drive a lot of people that don’t know how hard you need to close it. I read it’s possible on the the t5.1 with a lot of time and money. Is the t5 too old? Or is there a aftermarket soft close you could buy?

Do you want to fit the soft close as in the motor on the latch or the power sliding door? I fitted soft close to my t5.1. Have you got a plunger door switch on the C post?

Hi Pauly Good to read your post about the soft close kits great idea making the kits. I would be interested in purchasing a tailgate soft close kit for my t6.1 which already has soft close on both sliding doors

Is this an easy job? DIY or does it need coding? For those that have it - any issues or regrets? I am trying to engineer out all of the annoying things from current van in the new build and having to slam the sliding door in the middle of the night is definitely one of them!

There is no mounting bracket? You remove the existing striker and use those bolt holes to install the soft close module. As for fitting, looks like you may need to remove the heater to get access. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/power-latching-retrofit-kits.1584/post-69397
