...and wish to upgrade my battery to a Victron 12,8v/100Ah SuperPack. Currently housing a 110Ah gel which isn't holding charge anymore. Lithiumbattery is on order. Van has a hookup which feeds the charger via a 240v breaker unit, which then seems to feed the 12v goods via a 12v breaker unit...
Hi everyone 👋
We have a VW T6 Transporter, 2016 (75 kW TDI, CXGB engine), and want to convert it for light camping use – nothing fancy, mainly:
some LED lighting in the back
charging for laptop and phones
possibly a diesel air heater later
The van came with a factory dual battery setup...
For the TLDR folk, this is the bit on LifePo4 batteries in use in the UK during spring/summer…
“If occasional heatwaves occur, with temperatures exceeding 30°C, implement cooling measures such as fans or shading to prevent the batteries from overheating above 35°C.”
Insides of vehicles get...
Occam's razor (AKA don't look for complicated explanations when there is a simple one available) is probably as you suggest to suspect the leisure battery. If you have a multimeter a good charged battery should read greater than 12.2/12.3V. Even better is to do the same test whilst it is under...
Hey world of knowledge of everything VW..... Looking for leisure batteries, might well end up going underseat Roamer or Fogstar as every single time I try to be "sensible" with the budget, I end up regretting it, and going with what I was going to get in the first place - BUT, found this place...
I’m fitting a Fogstar Drift 105ah to replace a traditional battery that I killed over the summer, running it flat. Current system comprises CTEK D250SA for battery to battery and a 100w PV Logic solar panel routed it through a Victron 100/15 solar controller. Initially I had used the CTEK but...
I currently have a Numax 121000 10a battery charger hardwired in the consumer unit in my van, charging a 120ah AGM. It's in a cupboard right next to my head when I sleep and the fan is on/off through the night. Ultimately I'm looking to upgrade to 100ah lithium, so I was going to swap the Numax...
Anyone know anything about LiTime batteries? I’ve been waiting for Lithium batteries to drop to a reasonable level and I realise the companies are now starting to make some competitive offers. I’m wary of this massive discount though. The old adage, if something appears too good to be true, it...
Bought this in January for my new Weinsberg van However my van is a lot more energy intensive than my old T6 so I have upgraded.
Paid £400 for it looking for £250.
This is the actual battery but without the monitor. It is the pro version which has a bit more about it than the cheaper 100ah...
Noco’s are Lithium Ion not LiFePo4, at least mine is.
Lithium Ion is less stable when overheated, same goes for all the tool batteries in uninsulated panel vans.
That said I have worked in just over 50 deg C with power tools and nothing failed, but there wasn’t a choice.
Sound like a good time to upgrade that battery to a Lithium.
They are dropping to almost the same as SLA prices.

Hi all
Just done 3 days camping in our newly converted T6.1 (almost new van).
Has solar and lithiumbattery for the off grid ‘living’.
Went to set off this morning and wouldn’t start so had to call the AA - he felt battery must have been in poor condition, but converter said it’s not unusual for...
...with settings it's been great. Sitting on a festival site for 3days with no EHU, fridge working great and 200w solar panel keeping lithiumbattery charged. (Does help having some fantastic sunny days though).
My lead acid starter battery is struggling however and currently down to 12.2v
I...
Anyone give me sound advice please? Looking to replace existing AGM battery with lithium. Currently have 100Ah and don't forsee the need to upgrade this as no plans for inverter - just use lights, fridge and diesel heater. So looking around, there seems to be fogstar drift, renogy, ecoworthy
any...
