No. Apprently it wont fully charge if the BCM thinks its a lower capacity but I believe it will rectify itself after a few drives.
By coding the newbattery you ensure it will charge properly from the off.
This only applies if you buy a bigger battery than the 75ah OEM version. Buy the same size...
I have just started getting this on my 2021 T6.1. I have contacted VW directly and they advised me there was a SW update to clear this message which is flagged as due on my van. Problem is the 'over the air' updates are not supported on my van so VW pointed me back to my dealer who had no idea...
Hello to every one !!
I have massive problem with VW T6 no start ( Big bottle of whisky waiting for the hero who can help to solve the puzzle )
Transporter come with EGR flooded with water ,compression checked ( 300 PSI across )
changed HPFP with fuel rail regulator and sensor and new cambelt...
Do you mean Stop just not happening?
I had the same last time I disconnected the battery. Its seems it takes a while driving, before Start/Stop works again. Like several hours / hundreds of km on my 2023 T6.1.
Not that I miss it. I think that function is only for marketing/greenwashing...
2019 VW T6 4 MOTION
I took the van into my local garage and had the code faults scanned due to the engine gearbox icon and heater plug warning lights coming on and off. It appeared that my battery might of been the issue. All the electrical codes were cleared, nothing directly relating to the...
you need to have any newbattery coded in to reset the state of health of the battery that's store in the vans ECU.
any battery will work - but the van will assume its as knackered as the old one.
any battery place can code it in , , , ie Halfords etc.
Generally the code isn't critical, the capacity is (so the BCM knows what to charge to) and the serial number being changed (doesn't matter what to, but changing it resets the health data from the old battery)
I need a newbattery for my 2019 T6 102 stop start. Buying and fitting the battery is no problem, but reading other posts on here it seems I need to have the new one coded in? Does this mean the newbattery won’t start and run the van until this is done? This will obviously be a problem if it...
I just had mine done on a 2017 T30 150 with 90k.
I had a orange MIL light with a code for one of the glow plugs.
I had the plugs swapped at a local indy (all4) and then fitted a newbattery too.
What a difference it made, ... Spins over and fires super quick compared to before.... And also...
Ideally yes.
However, the smart alternator is, er, smart and over the course of several hundred miles will notice a newbattery and should do its own adaption and alter the charging profile to suit. Key word there is should.
Battery drained so low when on holiday .. less than 10V so knackered .. was a dodgy MOLL EFB. .. Have since changed new 70ahr like for like… but noticed CCS error / exclamation mark when used this week .. No Cruise Control .. The CCS was retrofit when I installed MFSW and has been fine for 3+...
Hi
Can someone please share opinion on this issue wit TPMS ?
2015 VW T5.1 with Indirect TPMS system that was working fine before
In December car had low battery as it was not used in winter and from that time TPMS light came ON
All Tyres have correct pressure but the error on Dash comes ON...
Don’t go to VW unless it will be changed under warranty. Save yourself a fortune and buy your own battery and a Carista (£25ish) to code it with (2 min job). Only necessary if your battery is actually knackered.
I think I had the lockout setting higher than the battery output voltage due to a faulty battery. Hence why it wasn't visible when it wasn't running.
I'm going to have to source a newbattery from VW because I think they need to be coded to the engine.
