A low voltage battery can be the cause of many error codes so the 1st thing to determine is the battery condition.
A bad battery can lose voltage quite quickly even without parasitic drain and especially in cold weather.
Take the battery off. Charge it for 24 hours. Measure voltage. Leave...
I take it that it’s your starter battery that’s flat and van won’t start?
I believe that new starter batteries need to be coded in.
Have you done this?
Also changing your thread name to “flat battery please help” would increase your responses from the many helpful members on here.
Welcome the...
HI,
I've got the same problem and saw Google bought up a Reddit post on the ID3 which said software was doing the same. I cant find the option to get into the backupbattery on my Ancel VD700 so guess I should have bought an OBD11 ! Is yours the basic (free) device or have you got the Pro plan?
I...
So had the van plugged in to diagnostics this morning and various faults showed up which I’m told could well be down to the knackered battery that was in before and causing the starting issue. Newbattery being fitted tomorrow now and codes re-read and cleared. Does this sound right? One of...
Just seen Renogy have a new style 100Ah battery out. Anyone got one yet? Currently sat at £410 (with a current discount code) Any views on this welcome. I know @Dellmassive is usually pretty quick on Renogy products.
Hi all
So we have a t6.1 and the electrics were done just over a year ago.
Made up of a 180watt solar panel on the roof
Leisure battery stored under the seat
Split charge system
We only run an alpicool fridge and 6 small led spots on the pop top bed base .
We had a new starter battery...
Many thanks for your reply Vedubber. So probably if I fit a newbattery without programming it in, it isn't going to do any significant harm to the newbattery ? I've got a multimeter which I use often, so I can check the state of charge I guess.
I'm wondering if i should buy a VCDS scanner...
They're saying they will fit a newbattery as that may be the problem, it has struggled a bit after being left a day or two. Thay will clear the codes, assess it and see how that goes. We will see.
Yep, you can do that but it will take some time for the vehicle to recognise the newbattery and charge it efficiently. The best way is to get it coded by changing a single digit of the battery code. If you are changing capacity and/or battery type (e.g. EFB to AGM) then I’d suggest coding it to...
Hi Jfoz did you sort the problem in the end?
I’ve got similar problem. Stop start error has been on dash for a couple of months then the other morning van wouldn’t turn over like the battery was flat. Second attempt it started fine as if there was plenty of power in battery.
Plugged launch in...
originally my van (t6) wouldn’t hold charge overnight and when I came the next morning battery was flat. Checked and was getting 14.78V once engine was running. Checked to see what A it was pulling while completely locked and was dropping too less than 20mA. Took it for a battery check and they...
Hey folks, if I rock up on the weekend with a new starter battery waiting to be fit will someone have the tech to code it into my van for me please? I'm guided to believe first by Jason @Absolut5 that my battery needs replacing and then secondly chatting with a neighbour. I was thinking of...
I got a 2018 tiguan 2.0 tdi, it will crank but not start, but starts with easy start, injectors are at constant 6v even when cranking
There is fuel pressure up to injectors,
I have no communication with steering module but other than that i had an nv energy management code thats gone when i...
14.8v and charging at 7A..
So the engine would have been running..
The quiescent code above will be triggered when a drain of over 50mA is logged.
Normally from 3rd party kit like dash cams , trackers, usb charges. Or anything plugged in to the OBD2 port
Hi everyone brand new to forum
Vehicle details 2016 t32 t-line 2ltr tdi 30,000 miles. Camper king conversion.stood for 3 days "battery flat" iv only had it couple weeks purchased van from Marquis lesure with a 3 year warranty. Rang them and they told me they would check it out. I put some miles...
Right - Starter Battery !!
i think this van has its original battery from 2017?
the Staop-Start hasnt worked for like - ever?
The AMT2-12 does a grand job keeping it from going flat.
but after changing the SB on the VAN, and seeing what a massive difference it made - i just had to change...
Hey lad, no I stripped that conduit back yesterday and inspected and then did continuity test and that was fine potentially could it be the battery monitor sensor?
I bought this a few weeks ago - straight swap. I have VCDS so coded the battery as per the many helpful posts on the forum, but as above, I believe the van learns it has a newbattery
