Wing mirrors

I have t5.1 power fold mirrors.. I’m taking them off to have the bases sprayed gloss black. Would it be possible to change the mount/base to t6 ones?
Would the mirror fit ok and would the power fold still move ok?

I’m pretty sure T5.1 and T6 mirrors are the same

Yes the actual mirrors are the same but the bases are different. The 5.1 sit in the middle whereas the 6 sit at the bottom of the base. Just wondering if that part is interchangeable?

Yes the mirror is mounted on the base lower than the 5.1. But the actual mirror is the same and the base plate fixing to the door is the same. But would a 5.1 mirror work mounted on the lower 6 base plate?

Sorry @JammieDodger I totally misread the original post! I thought you were asking if they were interchangeable as a whole unit! I think you may have got your answer now, apologies if I sent you on a bum steer
