Window vac

Battle of condensation - anyone use a window vac? I’ve been considering trying one for the colder months when the windows are affected with condensation - leaving windows open a crack doesn’t have much effect? I’ve seen Beldray selling fairly cheap on Amazon but doesn’t look like they can be used sideways without the water contents dripping back out of the collection tank. Karcher looks like the best option but before I buy I’m interested to hear peoples thoughts?

Need to heat and ventilate not just ventilate.
Burning gas creates water vapour, if you’re going to install a hob / heater I’d recommend a diesel unit like a Wallas XC Duo.
See dew point tables online.

Not speaking from van experience, but we had a Karcher window vac at home and it lasted many years of use other half uses it all the time on kitchen surfaces, bathroom and windows on occasion during winter. we currently have a Bosch one as the katcher after much abuse started to sieze up...im told the Karcher one was probably better by comparision.

Yeah, I’m aware of heat and ventilation and for the few times that I camp in the van in the colder months I’m not sure I can justify the expense of having a diesel heater installed. I’m out for a couple of nights next weekend and will be using a small oil filled rad so will see how that helps.

I've got a Karcher for the van but never needed it. I like things cool at night so have a small window open each side and the through ventilation keeps things dryer than a Nuns crotch.

I've used it on the shower doors and if memory services there are no problems eith dripping in any orientation. And the same holds true for the Karcher.

I used the van almost every weekend last winter & hear your pain re condensation as although I have a diesel heater, I don’t like it even vaguely warm at night. So my solution is, ventilation plus oil radiator to just keep the air circulating, but most importantly, external window insulation. It’s been a game changer. Polar screen on windscreen, Van Style barn door external covers, and this home made bad boy. Next thing is a pop top cover then I am sorted.
